Porsche is the brand for those who are driven by dreams, built on Ferry Porsche’s quest to build the sportscar of his dreams – and changing the automotive world ever since. Inspired by Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah’s Vision 2035 for the country, also known as Wawasan Brunei 2035, the Discovering Dreams initiative aims to encourage the youth to keep their dreams alive. The initiative was launched on 15th July 2022 to commemorate His Majesty’s 76th birthday.
“In the beginning, I looked around and could not find quite the car I dreamed of, so I decided to build it myself”. When Ferry Porsche couldn't find the sports car he yearned for, he took on the challenge to build it himself. This fervent belief in the power of dreams still defines Porsche today. Porsche Brunei’s ‘Discovering Dreams’ initiative features national swimmer Muis Ahmad, who followed his childhood dream of becoming an Olympic swimmer. The video production shows a day-in-the-life of Muis as he follows his training routine, while reflecting on his dreams and journey to the Olympics.
Muis’ passion for swimming developed at a young age, starting with swimming lessons at school. He joined a local swimming club with his parents’ support, making a name for himself at swimming competitions and eventually being selected for the national swimming team. His love for swimming, combined with diligence and perseverance, pushed him to maximise his potential and develop the sport in Brunei Darussalam. By bringing Muis into the spotlight, Porsche Brunei seeks to emphasize that with conviction, dreams can be brought to life.
With Brunei Vision 2035’s goals of a dynamic and sustainable economy with highly-educated, skilled and successful citizens, Porsche Brunei wishes to play a role in achieving His Majesty’s ambition by encouraging the youth to realise their potential, while inspiring those around them.
Porsche Brunei also supports His Majesty’s vision of a sustainable, clean and green environment by 2035, by highlighting sustainability at Porsche. The video features the all-electric Porsche Taycan, which has been CO2-neutral in its manufacturing process since it was launched in 2019. The Taycan represents sustainability and conscious living, and a comparable example is shown in the video production where Muis meets with a representative from a local resort that is fully powered by renewable energy. In their conversations, they discuss sustainability measures and highlight the importance of an environmentally-conscious lifestyle.
