GTS stands for Gran Turismo Sport. Since the Porsche 904 Carrera GTS of 1963, these three letters have held special significance for Porsche fans. Today, Porsche Brunei, represented by QAF Eurokars Sdn Bhd, introduces three evocative GTS models at Porsche Centre Brunei: the Panamera GTS, 911 Targa 4 GTS and the latest member of the GTS family: the all-electric Taycan GTS.
With the Taycan GTS, there is now a derivative featuring this legendary combination of letters in every Porsche model line.
“Our passion for sports cars is unrivalled, and we continue to strive toward offering a highly dynamic range of sports cars for all enthusiasts. The GTS models are revered at Porsche, the sweet spot possessing both high performance and practical usability, and instantly recognisable thanks to unique and sporty design characteristics,” said Lahiru De Silva, General Manager of QAF Eurokars Sdn Bhd.
“With the introduction of three new GTS models, we mark the exciting beginning of QAF Eurokars’ upcoming 25th anniversary celebrations. Expect to be thrilled, as we continue to provide the best for our Porsche family,” Mr. De Silva continued.
GTS models combine performance, comfort and style in one package, marking them out as the all-rounders within their respective model lines. Signature design elements on the exterior and interior allow GTS models to stand out, such as numerous black or dark details on the front apron, the bases of the exterior mirrors and the side window trims. Black Race-Tex features in the interior underscore the elegant, dynamic ambience, as does the standard brushed aluminium interior package with Black anodised finish.
The feature that often reveals a GTS model’s identity is the striking shade of Carmine Red, a deliberate choice by the design team at Zuffenhausen to instantly set the GTS badge apart from others. The colour has become synonymous with the models and can be found on the rev counter, stitching on the Sports seats – which are topped off with the iconic GTS logo – or nestled behind the satin black Spyder wheels on each brake caliper.
The contrasting colours, coupled with the sportier body, lend the GTS models their own identity within the Porsche world. They offer a glimpse into a history of uncompromising sportiness, designed with the driver in mind.
Taycan GTS: A sporty all-rounder for the Taycan range
The Taycan GTS represents the sweet spot of the model range, with an impressive 440 kW (598 PS) of overboost power when using Launch Control. The sprint from zero to 100 km/h can be achieved within 3.7 seconds, building up to a maximum speed of 250 km/h.
The latest derivative of the Taycan also features a particularly efficient drive strategy, and is the first Taycan capable of achieving in excess of 500km range in one charge. Adaptive air suspension, including Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), is specifically adapted to the Taycan GTS to elevate lateral dynamics. The set-up of the optional rear-axle steering is also even sportier. The richer sound pattern of the modified Porsche Electric Sport Sound underscores the character of the new GTS model.
A panoramic roof with Sunshine Control is available as a new optional extra for the Taycan GTS. An electrically activated liquid crystal film can change the roof from clear to matte at the touch of a button, protecting occupants from glare while still offering the choice or a bright or cosy interior.
The roof is divided into nine segments that can be activated individually – a world first in the automotive sector. In addition to the Clear and Matte settings, Semi and Bold can also be selected. These are predefined patterns with narrow or wide segments.
Panamera GTS: A perfect blend of sportiness, comfort and luxury.
A unique symbiosis of contrasts: the Panamera GTS combines the performance of a sports car with the comfort of a luxury saloon. The V8 biturbo engine in the Panamera GTS was optimised with a specific focus on its power delivery.
With 353 kW (480 PS) and 620 Nm of torque, the new Panamera GTS delivers 15 kW (20 PS) more power than its predecessor. The power output continuously increases up to close to the engine speed limit. The power delivery is therefore like that of a classic sports car with a naturally aspirated engine. The traditional V8 sound characteristics are even more prominent than before thanks to the new standard sports exhaust system featuring asymmetrically positioned rear silencers.
The revamped light strip at the rear now runs seamlessly over the luggage compartment lid with an adapted contour. It thus provides a continuous and flowing connection between the two newly designed LED tail light clusters. GTS models sport the new darkened Exclusive Design tail light clusters as standard with dynamic coming/leaving home function.
Three new 20- and 21-inch wheels have been added to the wheel range, so that a total of 10 different designs are now available.
911 Targa 4 GTS: More distinctive and dynamic as ever
Iconic, dynamic and powerful. With 353 kW (480 PS) and maximum torque of 570 Nm, the performance of the Targa 4 GTS is sharper than ever before. An eight-speed Porsche dual-clutch transmission (PDK) or a seven-speed manual, as well as GTS-specific suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), and the high-performance braking system from the 911 Turbo ensure the superior transmission of longitudinal and lateral forces.
Driving dynamics are further improved with the Lightweight Design package, which will be available for the first time on a GTS and saves up to 25 kilograms.
A multitude of black or darkened exterior details is characteristic of the 911 Targa 4 GTS, including the model-defining hoop and Targa lettering. Additional elements painted in black silk gloss include the spoiler lip, the centre-lock alloy wheels, the engine cover louvres, and the GTS script on the doors and rear of the car. The exterior package, in which these and other details are executed in high-gloss black, can be chosen as an option.
The headlight rims and daytime running light surrounds are darkened, and the car is fitted with standard LED headlights with Porsche Dynamic Light System Plus (PDLS Plus). The rear lights are unique to the 911 Targa 4 GTS, with the latest generation of Porsche Communication Management (PCM) bringing numerous improvements in operation and connectivity.
