In celebration of International Women Drivers’ Day, Porsche Brunei organized a special driving event for female Porsche owners this past weekend.
Over 20 ladies and their Porsche cars convened at Porsche Centre Brunei for a convoy drive from Bandar Seri Begawan to the Abode Resort & Spa in Temburong District. With the aim of empowering female Porsche owners with active and equal presence when it comes to ownership experiences, the event also highlighted key Porsche safety features and tips on improving one’s driving skills.
Activities began with a safety briefing at Porsche Centre Brunei, covering topics such as different driving modes on the owners’ cars and features such as Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) for enhanced stability and comfort.
A certified trainer also conducted a defensive driving workshop to encourage greater awareness and anticipation whilst driving, for a safer and more enjoyable experience. The 100-kilometre convoy journey then commenced, with the owners traversing a scenic route to their destination.
Upon arrival, the ladies enjoyed a calming yoga session, followed by brunch and networking at the resort, before making the journey back to Porsche Centre Brunei.
“We affirm our Porsche owners’ passion for driving, regardless of gender,” said Lahiru De Silva, General Manager of Porsche Brunei. “The drive today presented opportunities for our Porsche owners to socialise and unwind with like-minded individuals, whilst also improving our owners’ knowledge of their vehicles and honing their driving skills for the future. We are fully committed to delivering an excellent ownership experience to all Porsche owners, men and women alike,” concluded Mr. De Silva.
International Women Drivers’ Day celebrates the rise of women celebrating their passion, opinion and experience with cars. Through events like this, Porsche Brunei aims to encourage women to do exactly this, and enjoy their Porsche cars more in the process.
To keep the momentum going, Porsche Brunei expects to host more of such initiatives in the future, to empower and inspire current and future generations of driven females.
Three of the participants also shared their positive feedback on the driving event, the feedback videos can be viewed below:
