Porsche Centre Calgary collects certain information automatically when you use our Online Services. This policy does not apply to any of our affiliates, other Porsche companies, or Porsche Centres. All capitalized terms have the meaning assigned to them in our Privacy Policy.
In this policy, “personal information” means information that can be used to identify you such as your name, e-mail address, phone number, driver’s licence number, or credit card number. Personal information does not include de-identified, anonymized, or aggregate information that does not specifically identify you.
“Online Services” refer to our websites (i.e. https://www.porsche.com/canada/en/, https://store.porsche.com/ca/en, http://porscheaccessories.ca/selection), mobile applications, and online services or programs where this Privacy Policy is posted or linked.
Information We Collect Automatically
We collect certain information automatically to provide, optimise, and protect our Online Services. We do not use this data for the purpose of drawing conclusions about you or your identity. The categories of information we collect automatically, and how they are used, are described below.
Cookies: Cookies are small files stored by your browser that enable certain features of our Online Services and may allow us to learn more about your visit or use of our Online Services. We may use cookies to remember your personal information, including your registration information, to track your usage of our Online Services over time, and to provide you with content and ads tailored to your interests (see more about Online Behavioural Advertising below). Analytics Information: We may use third-party analytics tools such as Google Analytics, to help us measure traffic and usage trends for our Online Services. Log File Information: Log file information is automatically reported by your browser or mobile device each time you access our Online Services. When you use our Online Services, servers may automatically record certain log file information such as your web request; Internet Protocol (IP) address; information about your device, operating system and browser type; referring / exit pages and URLs; number of clicks and how you interact with weblinks to Porsche companies’ or third party websites; domain names, landing pages, pages viewed, and other such information.
Clear Gifs/Web Beacons: When you use our Online Services, we may employ clear gifs (also known as web beacons or pixel tags) which are used to anonymously track your online usage patterns. We may also use clear gifs in the emails we send you to track which emails are opened and which links are clicked by recipients. This information is used to track our marketing performance and improve our Online Services.
Location Data: When you access our Online Services, we may access, collect, monitor, and/or remotely store information regarding your device, as well as real-time “location data,” which may include GPS coordinates. Location data is used to provide location-based features of our Online Services. Location data may also convey to us information about how you browse and use our Online Services. You may opt-out from allowing us to have access to your location data by adjusting the permissions on your device. Note that some features of our Online Services may not function as intended if use or availability of location data is limited or disabled.
Information We Receive from Third Parties: We may receive information about you from third parties. For example, if you access our Online Services through a third-party connection or log-in (e.g. social media), such third party may pass certain information about your use of its service to us.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC (“Google”), on various Online Services. Google Analytics uses cookies and other tracking technologies to collect information such as how often you visit our Online Services, what pages you visit within our Online Services, and what other sites you visited prior to coming to our Online Services. We use this information to improve and track the performance of our Online Services. Online Behavioural Advertising
We use web-tracking tools to provide you with relevant ads and measure their performance.
We may use web tracking tools like cookies, clear gifs/web beacons, and other technologies to collect information about your use of the Online Services and third-party websites to better understand your web browsing and marketing preferences, to provide you with advertising based upon your interests, and measure advertising performance. These tools enable us to display customized ads to you on other websites and third-party social media platforms including, but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and/or LinkedIn (“Social Media Pages”) with the help of selected remarketing and retargeting advertising partners. Your information collected through these advertising initiatives will not be used by us to identify you personally and will at no time be merged with the personal information stored by us, however, it may be used to provide us with statistics about our advertising’s effectiveness.
In brief, we use these tools to:
Target interested users with the appropriate information to continuously optimise marketing communication with users of our Online Services;
Display advertising content relevant to you – both within and outside Porsche Centre Calgary websites; and
Measure advertising performance.
We use Social Media Pages tools to provide you with relevant ads and content on those platforms.
We may also show you interest-based ads using Social Media Pages. We do this through using web tracking tools like cookies or by using features like Facebook’s Custom Audiences (Facebook login required to view link) that allow us to display ads to our customer lists on Facebook. Opting-Out of Porsche Centre Calgary Online Behavioural Advertising
There are several steps you can take to stop receiving interest-based ads from Porsche Centre Calgary. Please note that even if you opt-out of our interest-based ads, you may still see online ads from us, but these ads will not be shown based upon your interests.
You can use your browser and device settings to limit what information Porsche Centre Calgary and other advertisers can collect about you.
