Porsche unveiled the latest version of the all-electric Porsche Taycan at the recent Los Angeles Auto Show earlier in November, and it is everything Porsche enthusiasts could have dreamed of. It’s the all-new Porsche Taycan GTS and it is coming next year.
GTS models are mythical in the Porsche universe. They designate a very special trim offering perhaps the best balance of impressive track performance and daily usability of any Porsche. The Taycan GTS will be a worthy addition to the long list of special Porsche GTS models, past and present.
More Range, A New Version
The Porsche Taycan GTS will come standard with the more powerful 93.4 kWh battery and it will offer the most range of any Taycan model. Official EPA numbers aren’t out yet, but Porsche says it will be the first Taycan to cross the 500-kilometre barrier in WLTP range testing. The Taycan GTS will offer 504 kilometres of WLTP range which should equate to roughly 425 kilometres once EPA numbers are out.
The GTS will be the bridge between the Taycan 4S and Taycan Turbo models, delivering up to 590 horsepower which is 28 more than a Taycan 4S. The GTS will reach 100 km/h in under 4,0 seconds.
It will be offered in two body styles, sedan and a new version called Sport Turismo. This is essentially a wagonized version like the Taycan Cross Turismo, but the Sport Turismo is designed for on-road use first and foremost. It will offer more cargo capacity than the sedan, and a more welcoming rear seat area.
Porsche GTS models traditionally get more performance-focused features standard and the Taycan GTS will as well. Standard features on the new trim include Porsche Active Suspension Management with rear torque vectoring, special Porsche electric sound, and the Sport Chrono package. The electric sound has been tuned differently for the GTS.
Special dark trim around the doors and front and rear fascias, standard darkened 20-inch wheels, larger disc brakes and available carbon ceramic brakes are also part of the Taycan GTS package. Special red GTS emblems and Race-Tex trim for the seats, dashboard, headliner and centre console give the Taycan GTS a unique look inside as well.
The Porsche Taycan GTS is available starting at $150,100 for the sedan and $152,700 for the Sport Turismo trim. It is available to order and is arriving next year.
