The Cayenne's popularity can be attributed in part to its unwavering Porsche DNA. When Porsche unveiled the Cayenne two decades ago, it proved to purists and industry pundits alike that the brand's distinct personality could be applied to any type of vehicle. Even today, the Cayenne continues to impress its owners, many of whom also own a Porsche 718 or 911 and find the same driving pleasure and experience behind the wheel of their Cayenne, with the added benefit of versatility.
Multiple versions of the impressive 2023 Porsche Cayenne SUV
The Porsche Cayenne has the most engine and trim options of any direct competitor. Powerful turbocharged V8 options, two impressive plug-in hybrid powertrains, and an efficient and capable six-cylinder option are among them. It is simple to find the ideal Cayenne for our requirements.
The base Porsche Cayenne is powered by a 3.0-litre turbocharged six-cylinder engine producing 335 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque at 1,340 rpm. This version, capable of towing 3,500 kg, is an excellent starting point for a luxury mid-size SUV. The Porsche Cayenne S is next in the lineup and has a powerful twin-turbo 2.9-litre V6 engine that produces 434 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque from 2,000 rpm.
Cayenne E-Hybrid and Turbo S E-Hybrid from Porsche
The Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid is offered in both standard and Coupe trims like every other Porsche Cayenne model. It features a turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 that delivers 335 horsepower, the same as found in the entry-level Cayenne. However, it adds a 100-kW electric motor that adds 134 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, pushing the total output of the Cayenne E-Hybrid to 455 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque.
That means that the Cayenne E-Hybrid is actually more powerful than the Porsche Cayenne, Cayenne S, or Cayenne GTS. It reaches 100 km/h in 5.0 seconds and can cover over 30 kilometres on electric power alone. It features the same cargo area and interior space as the traditional Cayenne. The major advantage of the E-Hybrid is its ability to drive on electric power alone, meaning that most owners should be able to cover a significant portion of their daily commute without needing a single drop of fuel.
High-Performance Trims
Buyers seeking the highest level of Porsche performance should consider the Cayenne GTS, which is powered by a turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 producing 453 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque. The Cayenne GTS returned with a V8 engine in 2021, and it provides an exceptional soundtrack from its quad exhaust, as well as remarkable handling and track performance.
The Porsche Cayenne Turbo also has a turbo V8, but this time it produces 541 horsepower. This is enough to propel the Cayenne Turbo to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds, and the Turbo, like the Cayenne and Cayenne S, can tow 3,500 kg.
The new 2023 Porsche Cayenne delivers an exceptional level of personalization in every trim, allowing owners to configure a Cayenne that perfectly represents their personality. It also delivers exceptional comfort features and the advanced connectivity technology you want in your SUV as well.
