As with the Taycan, Porsche also uses 800V technology for the all-electric Macan. This means that charging capacities of up to 270 kW are possible. The adaptive air suspension including Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) significantly increases the balance between maximum comfort and maximum performance thanks to the new 2-valve dampers.

The Porsche Taycan is Porsche's first fully electric vehicle and much has been said about its performance, its advanced technologies, and its remarkable efficiency. The Porsche Taycan proved when it arrived on the market three years ago that Porsche’s unique DNA and personality would work very well in an electric vehicle. As a matter of fact, driving a Porsche Taycan, the first thing you notice is just how “Porsche-like” it feels. The exceptional handling, the remarkable balance, and the class-leading performance in every area from accelerations to handling are all elements that significantly add to the experience we find behind the wheel of a Taycan.

The other element that should be noted about the Taycan, especially now with winter just around the corner, is just how impressive it can be in difficult weather or driving conditions thanks to its advanced all-wheel drive system. Porsche delivers many advanced AWD systems depending on the model, and the dual-motor all-wheel drive technology found in its electric vehicles is just as impressive as the one found on gas-powered or plug-in hybrid models. The Porsche Taycan is a very efficient and competent winter vehicle, and it will get through difficult Calgary snow-covered roads and icy hills with confidence. Porsche dual-motor all-wheel drive

The Porsche Taycan features two electric motors, one on each axle. This is true of every Porsche Taycan on sale today in Canada (there is a RWD model in the US) and depending on the version you will get more or less power from each of these electric motors. The end result is the same, however, with each electric motor ensuring that each axle and therefore every wheel constantly receives power in order to ensure traction. Better yet, an electric motor is notoriously quick at distributing torque which means instant torque corrections and immediate stability even in the trickiest environments. If a given wheel is losing grip on a slippery surface, the electric motor on that axle can quickly restore the needed power in order to reestablish traction.

The Taycan effectively distributes power in milliseconds to the front and to the back or evenly between the axles, turning the Porsche EV into a FWD, RWD, or AWD vehicle depending on what is happening. This also allows Porsche Taycan owners to have a little bit of fun when the situation lends itself to that. We’ll just say that getting sideways on snow in a Taycan is never a problem, and bringing the car back to a straight line is just as easy.

Perfect weight distribution

The Porsche Taycan's weight is concentrated towards the centre of the vehicle which is exactly what you want in a low grip environment. This leads to a perfect power distribution front and back, but it also leads to a perfectly balanced vehicle in slippery corners which means more predictable handling and better overall agility. In other words, what makes the Taycan so fun to drive on a clear winding road in summer is what makes it so effective on a slippery road in winter.
