Stage 1: Introduction

Our 2009 Porsche Cayenne Tiptronic S (9PAAG1) is the centrepiece of our entry in the 2024/2025 Porsche Classic Restoration Competition.

Sourced through our customer network by Ravi Ramdin, our Pre-Owned Sales Manager, this Cayenne was selected for its potential to be reimagined with purpose and personality. It will undergo a transformation tailored to enhance both its capability and character. The technical plan includes a two-inch suspension lift, oversized off-road wheels and tires, light bars mounted to the front and roof, and a mechanical and interior refresh to ensure optimal performance and functionality.

Our project team is led by three key members. Khalil Khan, our After Sales Manager, brings over two decades of Porsche experience and oversees the restoration from a service and customer-focused perspective. Adrian Berger, our Parts Manager, is curating the components and overall aesthetic direction. Danilo Cortez-Magan, our technician and newest team member, will be performing the full restoration hands-on. His passion for automotive craftsmanship began in childhood, having spent time alongside his grandfather, a professional heavy-duty mechanic. That early exposure sparked a lifelong interest in the trade, which he has since developed into a career with Porsche.

“So far, the most interesting part has been the lift kit,” Danilo shares. “We’re not entirely sure how the vehicle is going to sit until it's all in place, but that’s part of the fun. There have been plenty of rusted bolts and seized components, and I’m sure there will be more stories to tell by the end.” Adrian Berger describes the creative vision as “an urban overlander, refined enough for city driving but rugged enough to perform when taken off the beaten path.” Khalil Khan emphasizes the collaborative nature of the project: “It’s not only Danilo, who’s now building the car he once imagined as a kid, but also Adrian, who envisioned the look and selected the wheels. We discussed colour combinations as a team and involved Ken Tsui, our General Manager, and Bryan Haszczyn, our Sales Manager. What makes this Cayenne unique is that we have all hands on deck, working toward one vision and one purpose for the vehicle.”

The journey is just beginning. Follow along as this vision takes shape.

Stage 2: Mechanical Refresh

Stage two of our Classic Restoration journey focuses on what lies beneath. Before any exterior or interior transformation begins, our 2009 Cayenne Tiptronic S is receiving a full mechanical refresh to ensure performance and reliability are brought back to Porsche standards.

New off-road tires are now fitted and the suspension lift is underway. Our technician Danilo has been hands-on addressing aged components and seized hardware, carefully working through rusted bolts and preparing the chassis for the build ahead. Every adjustment sets the foundation for what's to come.

This Cayenne is not just being restored. It is being reconditioned with intention. Stay tuned as design, detail and pure craftsmanship take center stage.

Stage 3: Design & Customization
The adventure continues as our 2009 Cayenne Tiptronic S enters the next phase of its Classic Restoration journey. With the foundation of its mechanical refresh complete, our team turned their attention to additional upgrades and a unique customization.

Recent work included replacing the headlights, tail lights, and windshield. The team is also updating suspension, fitting a roof rack and installing an LED lighting system. The Cayenne now wears a fully customized wrap that redefines its presence and embodies the character of this build.

With every enhancement, this Cayenne moves closer to its ultimate vision: purposeful, capable, and unmistakably Porsche.
Stage 4: Project Reveal

It is a proud moment for our team to see our vision brought to life on the 2009 Porsche Cayenne.

What began in rough condition has been re-imagined into our interpretation of an urban assault vehicle: a Cayenne built to be practical, functional, and unforgettable. The first-generation Cayenne has always been a staple of Porsche history, and this build brings that heritage into a new form.

The wrap makes the vision clear. With “416” boldly representing downtown Toronto and the CN Tower rising across the front, this Cayenne is ready for the urban jungle while remaining fully capable beyond it. Every element was designed to work together seamlessly, creating a vehicle that is iconic, cohesive, and true to Porsche.

Stage 5: Into the Wild
Into the Wild marks the final chapter of our Classic Restoration journey. The 2009 Cayenne Tiptronic S emerges as our interpretation of an urban overlander, shaped by the energy of Downtown Toronto and engineered to venture far beyond it.

The wrap tells the story with “416” signifying our city and the CN Tower spanning the front, a statement of place and purpose. Every element reflects functionality and Porsche precision, unified through the dedication of our team.

This is more than a restoration. It is heritage redefined and a vision brought to life.
