First revealed at the International Motor show in Frankfurt as a concept car in September 2015, the Mission E is expected to have many exciting features. It is believed that aspects from the 911 models will be seen in the Mission E, such as the steering, chassis, and body. Rumored to have two electric engines giving the car over 600 horsepower (440 kW), and an 800 volt powertrain, the Mission E will be similar to any modern day sports car. The car could possibly feature a range of 500 kilometers at full charge, and a 400 kilometer range at 80% charge. This could give the Mission E a top speed of over 240 kilometers per hour and zero to 100 kilometers in just 3.5 seconds.
Powered completely by lithium-ion batteries, the Mission E is speculated to be charged simply by driving over top of a charging base plate using inductive charging technology. If a charging base plate is not available, the car can also be charged by cable. The car will reach an 80% charge in just 15 minutes.
Porsche has continued to create an interior that focuses on the driver. Other rumors have included that the Mission E will feature state of the art such as a free standing control panel that can sense whether the driver leans, sits up, or slouches and will adjust to these movements, as well as an eye tracking system that can tell which instrument the driver is looking at.
