The exclusive GT4 RS Manthey Racing kits are now available through Porsche Centre Kitchener-Waterloo.
Kitchener-Waterloo Porsche owners appreciate performance and speed, which is why the Manthey Racing kit, a collaboration between the engineers at Porsche Motorsport and the multi-award-winning German racing team Manthey Racing, is such a noteworthy upgrade. The street-legal performance kit, specifically designed for the GT4 RS, offers drivers the type of upgrade that is best experienced on a track.
“As with all our products, this kit is based on our entire know-how in motorsport,” explains Nicolas Raeder, Managing Director of Manthey-Racing GmbH. “The Manthey-Racing Kit for the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 combines maximum performance with pure driving pleasure.”
We’re proud to offer the GT4 RS Manthey Racing kit at Porsche Centre Kitchener-Waterloo. There are a number of race-worthy upgrades, all of which will enhance your track driving experience.
Aerodynamic Accoutrements
Here are the specs for the GT4 RS Manthey Racing kit, available now.
Downforce on the front end is enhanced with a wheel arch Gurney flap, carbon underbody with diffusers and air curtains. There’s also a larger rear wing, which is 3.4” wider than the manufacturer's wing it replaces, with notable side blades, all of which contribute to the added downforce at the rear. The wing is outfitted with four positions (verses the standard three) that can be automatically accessed without any tools.
With this added force, a carbon-weave finish has been used to reinforce the bodywork of the rear engine cover and carbon fiber-reinforced plastic aerodiscs are also used to mitigate potential turbulence. These considerations are needed. When the rear wing of the GT4 RS Manthey Performance kit is set to the Performance position, drivers can expect downforce to nearly double at 200 km/h, reaching an impressive total downforce increase from 196 to 372 lbs.
Superior Coil-Over Suspension Setup
The 718 Cayman GT4 RS Manthey kit gets a coil-over suspension with inverted set-up, which can be adapted for track use. The spring struts have four different positions and so both the compression and rebound states can be modified without tools. With the kit, the front suspension spring rates increase by 20 per cent. Overall, this means that maneuvers and corrections on the track become significantly more precise. Further, the chassis is offered in two variations, depending on whether your Porsche has a front axle lift system or not.
Braided Steel Brake Lines & Racing Brake Pads
The braided steel brake lines, which are a standard component in the kit, ensure optimal braking power. They’ve been specifically designed for the track and further increase control, particularly when cornering. Racing brake pads, an optional feature for the GT4 RS Manthey Racing kit, have excellent disc wear, and further help improve responsiveness every time you touch the pedal.
Air In-Take Grille
Specific grille inserts are included for the side air intakes above the side skirts, which make cleaning the ducts much easier, as coarse dirt such as tyre rubber abrasion is already stopped at the easy-to-reach inlet to the scavenging air duct.
6 seconds faster on the Nordschleife
Porsche is known for taking its performance vehicles to the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the iconic, 20 kilometre German track with 154 turns, and the GT4 RS, outfitted with the Manthey Racing kit, was no exception. Porsche brand ambassador Jörg Bergmeister pushed the machine to its limits, managing to complete the course more than six seconds faster than the series-production 718 Cayman GT4 RS (recorded the previous year). It’s an impressive feat, and an experience that is within reach for our GT4 RS owners in the Porsche Centre Kitchener-Waterloo community.
