How does a weekend away in the South Okanagan behind the wheel of your Porsche sound? How about gourmet dining with a beautiful resort stay and laps around a track designed by Canadian F1 legend Jacques Villeneuve? If those sound as good to you as a flat six, then you’ll definitely want to sign up for the fourth annual Porsche Centre Langley Area 27 Track Event. Taking place June 25th to 26th.
The weekend kicks off by checking-in at the award-winning Spirit Ridge Resort in Osoyoos. This four-star hillside property is nestled on a lakeside winery, overlooking the beautiful BC Okanagan. Included are amenities like an outdoor pool, spa, bar, lounge, and café.
Once settled in, guests are treated to a welcome dinner on Spirit Ridge’s vineyard patio, where they can get acquainted with their fellow enthusiasts and enjoy a gourmet meal with a wine pairing. The next morning, after a catered breakfast at Area 27, the real fun begins.
After breakfast has been served, professional instructors await participants who will be given an overview of the day’s high performance activities. Both safety and driving instruction are provided - for example how to best tackle 16 corners of the track in a high performance mid-or-rear-engined sports car. The track features 4.83 kilometers of turns inspired by the most iconic circuits in motorsport, as well as an 800-metre-long straightaway to stretch your car’s legs.
At noon, drivers break for another catered meal. Once lunch has settled, the driving experience continues until concluding at 5pm. Drivers will have the chance to experience the track under the lead-follow instruction of legendary former Porsche factory racing driver Kees Nierop. Drivers will also take place in an autocross session, and the day will conclude with open-lapping.
The idea for the world-class facility was first conceived two decades ago, with construction of the world-class facility beginning in 2016. The name is a reference to the 227 acres that the site sits on, its semi-hidden desert location à la Nevada’s Area 51, as well as the number on Villeneuve’s Ferrari race car.
Tickets are now on sale for this event. Tickets are limited in availability and restricted to only non-SUV/EV Porsche models.
