Porsche 911 GT3 RS (991.2) now available
The range of Porsche Tequipment is now supplemented by the Manthey Performance Kit for the 991.2 generation Porsche 911 GT3 RS. This makes it the second Manthey performance kit to be distributed by Porsche. Customers who own this model can order the kit at any Porsche Centre and have it installed. Since original equipment parts are used, the Porsche warranty remains intact.
In April 2021, the performance of the kit was already put to the test on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife: There, Porsche works driver Kévin Estre lapped the 20.832-kilometre circuit in 6:54.340 minutes in a Porsche 911 GT3 RS with the Manthey Performance Kit. "In addition to pure performance, which can be seen in the lap time, the focus is on drivability, as with all performance kits. Predictable reactions and crystal-clear feedback from the vehicle are the factors that make the package so attractive to a broad spectrum of sports drivers," says Stefan Mages, Head of Development at Manthey.
Part of the kit is an aerodynamics package that shifts the aerodynamic balance towards the rear axle. With the Manthey rear wing in the flattest position, downforce at the rear axle increases by around 40 percent in conjunction with the Aerodiscs, without negatively affecting downforce at the front axle. A coilover suspension and brake components complete the package. "We are proud to be able to offer Porsche customers another performance kit via the Porsche Tequipment Finder throughout Europe. Following the successful integration of the Porsche 911 GT2 RS kit, we are enabling them to modify their GT3 RS performance as well - and all of this with Porsche warranty," emphasizes Nicolas Raeder, Managing Partner of Manthey.
Among other things, the aerodynamics package was tested in the wind tunnel in Weissach, which remains one of the most modern of its kind: The blower with a diameter of eight metres has extremely lightweight carbon blades and can generate wind speeds of up to 300 km/h (186 mph) on the tested vehicle in the measurement area.
The raoing brake pad is available as an option for vehicles with ceramic braking system (PCCB) (part numbers: 99104480636, 99104480637). This improves the fading characteristics as well as responsiveness and control.
The brake pad stands out for its constant friction characteristics over a wide temperature range and very good wear characteristics with low disc corrosion[sic].
The damping unit is 3-way adjustable, and the aluminium support bearings also enable easy adjustment of the camber values on the front axle. The independent pressure stage adjustment in low and high speed is carried out on the external reservoir via the tool-free adjusting wheels.
The rebound stage can also be adjusted via an adjusting wheel on the lower end of the damper housing. If the vehicle has a standard front axle lift system, the function is retained in full. The rear axle features an aluminium spring strut. The four-way adjustable damper (compression and rebound, at low and high speed) can be adjusted via tool-free adjusting wheels directly on the damper housing.
The basic setup of the high-end chassis components was deter- mined in countless laps on international race tracks, but above all on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, and meticulously tuned by the engineers at Porsche and Manthey.
If not already installed on the vehicle, the GT3 RS Manthey Performance Kit is only available in conjunction with the 20/21-inoh GT3 RS wheel set or the 20/21-inoh GT2 RS magnesium wheel set the latter having a weight advantage of 11.4 kg, (without tyres, valves or Tyre Pressure Monitoring sensor).
The wheel sets are suitable for the corresponding tyre sizes:
Front axle:
9.5J x 20 RO 50 with 265/35 ZR 20 (99Y) XL tyres
Rear axle:
12.5 J x 21 RO 48 with 325/30 ZR 21 (108Y) XL tyres
Please note: The individual components of the 911 GT3 RS Manthey Performance Kit are in perfect harmony. For this reason, they may only be installed together on the vehicle. Available individual offers are shown separately. For more information, please contact Porsche Centre Langley.
