While the year 2023 marks 75 years of exceptional Porsche performance, it also marks the beginning of a new era. The Porsche Mission X concept car brings with it cutting-edge innovations that go way beyond anything that has been imagined until now, when it comes to driving experience and design.
Find out more about this new 100 % electric Porsche concept car, marking the beginning of the next 75 years! Porsche Lauzon presents the new and amazing features found on the Porsche Mission X specs sheet in this article. Read on below!
A new concept car
The Mission X is a new model that brings with it several new features that stay true to the German manufacturer’s philosophy for innovation. We can already see that it acts as a successor to the legendary 959, 918 Spyder and Carrera GT, in the sense that it brings with it unparalleled levels of performance and a truly unique design.
There are several elements that definitely remind us of the 919 Street concept, which was presented in Munich in 2019. This concept, which was never turned into a production model, has a wide and muscular build and a vertical light signature. Now let’s get back to the Mission X design!
The Mission X is not only unique when it comes to aesthetics, but also in terms of its powertrain, which is 100 % electric. With this electrifying unit, Porsche is expecting to break new records.
Although it is currently in the concept stage, we can imagine that it will eventually be manufactured, especially given that the manufacturer has ambitious goals as to which models will succeed to the already existing sports car models. Inspired by the 24 Hours of Le Mans cars, the Mission X promises breathtaking performance levels.
Exterior Design
The Porsche electric supercar shares physical elements that remind us of Formula 1 cars. With a wide and low posture and an elongated and aerodynamic silhouette, it truly does look like a race car. It has a sporty physique without being too aggressive, maintaining an elegant exterior styling. The wide and muscular body also reminds us of the 919 Street concept car.
The light signature is one of the first things you will notice. In fact, the emblematic 4- point signature has been redesigned as a vertical signature with 4- LED bars. There is also a full width “floating” light strip at the rear, held by a bronze/gold structure.
Still at the rear, you will also find the illuminated Porsche logo. A small letter “E” has been integrated and fluctuates in intensity to indicate when the car is charging. In fact, there is also a remarkable diffuser that creates outstanding downforce and works effortlessly to glue the car down onto the road, for extreme and remarkable performance levels.
Other than the lighting, the Porsche Mission X doors are also unique; they open like scissors, forward and upward, like on the Porsche 917. It also has a window opening system.
The doors and roof form a large glass bubble, which Porsche compares to an airplane cockpit. The glass enhances the roomy feel of the interior.
Finally, the Porsche Mission X has a unique paint color called Rocket Metallic, which is a brown tint that becomes darker depending on the angle from which you are looking at it. The vehicle truly stands out with its sporty and futuristic exterior lines.
Technical Specifications
For the time being, we know very little about the Porsche Mission X specs. However, the manufacturer has announced a high-performance electric powertrain, fed by a new high-tension battery type.
It will not only provide outstanding performance when it comes to power levels, but also in terms of charging times. Apparently, we can expect charging times that are twice as fast as with the Taycan Turbo S, which is already quite impressive.
Although we do not have access to many more details, the manufacturer plans on breaking several records including lap times on the racetrack for a production vehicle model made for the road. Stay tuned for more Mission X specs, which should be revealed soon, provided that Porsche chooses to move forward with production!
The weight/power ratio will be 1:1 and downforce should also be spectacular. It is sure to bring electric driving to a whole new level.
Interior and On-Board Equipment
There is no doubt that the exterior is really quite impressive; but the interior is also as well! Porsche has stepped away from tradition by offering a chic atmosphere and seats with asymmetrical colors.
The prototype was revealed with a brown and white interior, but colors can be customized and so can the seats. In fact, the seat shells can be personalized in order to adapt perfectly to your body type via a scan! These carbon fiber shells are both light and extremely comfortable.
The “yoke” type sport steering wheel –meaning that it does not have a top or bottom part- provides you with the ultimate sport driving experience. The cockpit is also designed to be just as sporty, integrating a wide curved digital cluster screen and infotainment screen geared towards the driver.
As you can see, the concept car promises an exciting driving experience and an exclusive design, both inside and out! While awaiting more information regarding its mass production, come and discover other sporty models offered by your Porsche dealership in the Greater Montreal area!
