Porsche and sedan. Two terms that at first glance are incompatible. Yet the Zuffenhausen-based automaker surprised everyone by launching production of its very first premium sedan, the Panamera, in 2009. And like every Porsche, it was already uncompromisingly sporty, regardless of the model. It also offered unparalleled technology and refinement in a class where Mercedes and BMW had traditionally led the way. As is often the case at Porsche, it was a great success, and the manufacturer gave it a second generation for the 2017 vintage, which was welcomed with equal enthusiasm. And it has just undergone a restyling for the upcoming 2021 model year, with a number of improvements that will allow it to keep the crown in its segment. Porsche Lauzon, your Porsche dealer of choice in Laval and in the Greater Montreal area, reveals everything about the Stuttgart sedan’s new facelift, soberly named 2021 Porsche Panamera.
A hell of a look, as seductive and sporty as ever for the metropolitan region.
Just as when the first phase of this generation was released, the entire 2021 Porsche Panamera range displays exceptionally pure lines. Indeed, it retained the lines of the outgoing model, which was a resounding success, with its streamlined headlights, low roof and iconic taillight strip, also present on the current 911 Type 992. In the case of the Panamera’s “standard” version and the Executive with extended wheelbase, you'll get a steeply sloping rear window giving you the impression of a very dynamic fastback type roof. And on the Porsche sport family car, called "Sport Turismo", this window is just slightly less inclined, but it features a straighter roof at the rear. All this makes it look more compact and muscular, and adds a pleasant extra touch of versatility.
So, in absolute terms, there's no need for a revolution with such stylistic features: the changes are subtle and make the Panamera range even more desirable for 2021. For example, the Sport Design Package is now standard on all variants except the Turbo S, to further enhance the sleek lines of the Panamera. The headlights and taillights have also been tastefully redesigned, especially on the GTS variants, where they are now tinted. Add to that three new 20-inch and 21-inch wheel models, and the 2021 Panamera will shine even more exclusively when it arrives in Laval, on the North Shore of Montreal, especially in its high-performance Porsche limousine variant!
In-depth engine upgrades for even more performance.
While the changes are discreet on the exterior, they stand out much more on the mechanical side. And as usual, you'll once again have a wide choice of powertrains with many different engines available, starting with the 325-hp 2.9L V6 turbo with 331 lb-ft of maximum torque. This one is fitted to the entry-range versions, which are the Panamera model and the Panamera 4 equipped with 4-wheel drive. Both have a smooth and fast PDK gearbox and deliver top-notch performance (0–100 km/h with Sport Chrono Package: 5.4 seconds for the Panamera and 5.1 seconds for the 2021 Panamera 4). The 4S E-Hybrid version reconciles sport and eco-efficiency with its hybrid powertrain (2.9L V6 biturbo + electric motor) with a combined power and torque of 552 hp and 553 lb-ft. All this is transmitted to the ground via a PDK gearbox and all-wheel drive as standard.
The GTS and Turbo S models, on the other hand, are in a completely different league. On the 2021 Panamera GTS, you can count on nothing less than a 4.0L V8 fed by twin turbochargers to deliver 473 hp and 457 lb-ft of torque. This gives top performance to the Panamera which, in its sedan configuration, delivers a 0–100 km/h sprint in just 3.9 seconds with the Sport Chrono Package. Its top speed on the track is 300 km/h. But if you're looking for the ultimate sportiness in the range, only the 2021 Panamera Turbo S will satisfy you with 620 hp and 604 lb-ft of torque, delivered by its super-powerful 4.0-litre V8 turbocharged engine. It gives this Panamera herculean capabilities worthy of the best supercars, with the sedan reaching 100 km/h from a standstill in just 3.1 seconds when equipped with the Sport Chrono option. The top speed is just as breathtaking (315 km/h).
So one thing is certain, whatever powertrain you choose, you'll get the best of Porsche performance from Montreal to Laval!
A sober interior featuring the latest technologies on the North Shore.
With these racecar-worthy performances, one might be worried about the comfort of the 2021 Panamera lineup. Well, think again: it's absolutely not the case! And this starts with an interior design that will give you the luxury of breathing in complete serenity with very clean and horizontal lines for the dashboard.
You'll also find the latest technological refinements you expect from a Porsche to complete this comfort. 18-way power adjustable front seats, four-zone temperature control, or Burmester audio system: you'll reach a level of luxury simply never seen in the class in Quebec. Thank you Porsche Canada!
