Watkins Glen, NY. (June 27, 2022) // A late-afternoon storm that rolled across Watkins Glen International affected Sunday’s Sahlen’s Six Hours of The Glen, but Pfaff Motorsports captured a podium finish to boost its GTD Pro championship lead for drivers Matt Campbell and Mathieu Jaminet.

The No. 9 Driveway Porsche 911 GT3 R was running in second place when the race was red-flagged due to weather with nearly 90 minutes remaining in the endurance round. However, after the storm passed, an estimated ten minutes was added to the clock to run a final sprint of 35 minutes to the checkered flag.

The additional time forced the team to pit in the closing laps for fuel, which dropped the car to fourth place at the checkered flag. However, a higher-placing competitor was deemed to not meet drive-time requirements, so Pfaff Motorsports was elevated to third place.

The podium is an overall success for the team after entering the weekend with a Balance of Performance adjustment following its victory at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca in May. It also means Pfaff Motorsports extended its championship lead ahead of its home race this upcoming weekend at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.

The Chevrolet Grand Prix at CTMP kicks off the second half of the season and is scheduled for Sunday, July 3, at 3:05 p.m. ET. NBC Network will televise the race flag-to-flag in the United States, with REV.tv and IMSA.tv coverage available for Canadian viewers. Follow along with Pfaff Motorsports throughout the weekend on the team’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter pages and with the hashtags #ChevroletGrandPrix or #CTMPlife.

Matt Campbell, Driver:
“It’s always good when you get a podium, especially when you didn’t have the pace outright. We really salvaged the best of the worst situation here this weekend, especially for our championship and getting the maximum points for what we had to offer. I think it was really positive and it was a good race.”

Mathieu Jaminet, Driver:
“In the end, we knew we were not the quickest car. We nailed it in the pits, we nailed in on the strategy, I think we nailed it on the track taking every opportunity we could in traffic. Without the little bit of time added at the end, it would’ve been a P2 on a track which has not been very successful for Porsche in previous years. Still with P3, we increase our championship lead, so all in all it was a very good weekend. We knew we couldn’t expect a lot more, so we maximized the performance once again and the boys did a great job.”
