2018-2019 Porsche 911 GT2 RS (991.2) Manthey Kit

When Porsche owners speak about the ultimate evolution of the 911 GT2 RS, they are often referring to the Manthey Kit. Unlike aftermarket upgrades, this package represents an official collaboration between Porsche’s Development Center in Weissach and Manthey-Racing GmbH—the racing outfit responsible for multiple class victories at the Nürburgring 24 Hours.

Thanks to coordinated suspension, aerodynamic and brake components as well as the lightweight GT2 RS magnesium wheels, it was possible to adapt the breathtaking performance of the 991 GT2 RS even more precisely to the requirements of track days and tourist drives.

Every component is engineered to work as a unified system, delivering real-world performance gains you can feel in fast corners, braking zones, and long track sessions—all while retaining your vehicle’s OEM warranty when installed by Porsche.

In June 2021, a 911 GT2 RS equipped with the Manthey Kit set a new Nürburgring production car lap record at 6:43.300, proving the kit’s engineering isn’t theoretical—it’s the benchmark.

Aerodynamics Package — Measured Downforce, Real Confidence

The Manthey aerodynamics suite isn’t just cosmetic—it is functional motorsport hardware refined in Porsche’s state-of-the-art Weissach wind tunnel.

Front downforce increases from 49 kg to 70 kg at 200 km/h thanks to a carbon underbody, wheel-arch air deflectors, and front apron flaps.

On the road/track: Imagine entering turn 1 at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park at 200 km/h—where most GT2 RS drivers gently modulate steering to keep the front end planted. With the Manthey aero, the nose bites earlier and more confidently, allowing you to brake deeper and commit to the apex.

Rear downforce increases from 93 kg to 200 kg at 200 km/h using a body-mounted carbon rear wing, diffuser, and rear aerodiscs.

In practice: High-speed sections—like the back straight at Calabogie or the sweeping right-handers at the Nürburgring—feel noticeably calmer. The car tracks straight, absorbs crosswinds, and allows smoother throttle application without unsettling the chassis.

Aerobalance is shifted rearward for more stability under load.
Drivers often describe it as adding “a wider performance window”—the car warns you less abruptly and gives you more usable grip in fast transitions.

Coilover Suspension — Race-Born, Road-Tuned

Porsche and Manthey calibrated the coilover suspension over thousands of development kilometers across Formula 1-level proving grounds and the Nordschleife.

Front MacPherson (upside-down) aluminum strut, 3-way damping adjustment
You can dial out front axle nervousness on uneven surfaces during spirited highway drives, or stiffen compression for track days to minimize body movement in long braking zones.

Rear aluminum shock absorber, 4-way adjustable (compression/rebound, high/low speed)
This allows drivers to tailor the GT2 RS to driving style and circuit. On tight Toronto-area roads, reduce low-speed compression to help the suspension breathe over imperfections. On track, increase high-speed rebound to maintain tire contact over bumps at the end of long straights.

Front axle lift system is retained
Meaning everyday usability—steep driveways, parking garages—remains uncompromised.

Brake Line Set with Steel Sleeve — Precision at the Pedal

The steel-sleeved brake lines sharpen pedal feedback, translating pressure more directly into brake response.

On a hot track session: As temperature rises and brakes are pushed into fade territory, pedal feel remains consistent. Rather than compensating with deeper pedal inputs, you maintain precise modulation—critical for trail braking into corner entry or managing downhill braking on lapping days.

Optional Racing Brake Pads
Optimized for wide temperature windows, they prevent fade and deliver predictable friction.

Everyday perspective: Even on spirited weekend drives, you’ll notice shorter pedal travel, firmer bite, and more confident stopping distances.

Additional Water Tank — Sustained Power Delivery

The additional +9 L charge-air cooling water tank extends the time before heat-soak affects intake temperatures.

Translation: Instead of losing power mid-session, the engine maintains peak output deeper into your drive—crucial during long lapping sessions at Mont-Tremblant or on summer track days.

20/21-inch GT2 RS Magnesium Wheels — Less Weight, More Precision

If your GT2 RS is not already equipped with them, the Manthey magnesium wheels are mandatory for the kit.

Weight reduction of 11.4 kg vs. aluminum wheels
That unsprung mass reduction changes the car’s character—quicker steering response, sharper turn-in, and improved suspension compliance over track curbing.

Available Finishes:

-Brilliant Silver

-Black (silk gloss)

-Aurum (silk gloss)

-White Gold Metallic (silk gloss)

-Platinum (silk gloss)

The wheel set is suitable for the corresponding tire sizes:
Front axle: 9.5 J x 20 RO 50 with tires 265/35 ZR 20 (99Y) XL tires.
Rear axle: 12.5 J x 21 RO 48 with 325/30 ZR 21 (108Y) XL tires.

Track-day advantage: The wheel’s reduced inertia improves acceleration from lower speeds and reduces rotational load on braking—exactly the sort of thing you feel exiting pit lane into a flying lap.

Porsche recommends Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires to fully unlock the kit’s capabilities.
