2018-2020 Porsche 911 GT3 RS (991.2) Manthey Kit

For Porsche owners who appreciate rarity, factory provenance, and authentic motorsport DNA.

The Manthey Kit for the 911 GT3 RS (Type 991.2) was born from the same development philosophy that shapes Porsche’s factory race programs. Engineered collaboratively by the Porsche Development Centre in Weissach and Manthey-Racing GmbH, the kit refines the already intense GT3 RS into something far more focused—still road-legal, still factory backed, but unmistakably transformed.

This is not a cosmetic upgrade. It’s a curated collection of components designed to work together, installed as a complete system, and performance-proven in conditions most owners will never experience. In April 2021, Porsche works driver Kévin Estre circled the Nürburgring Nordschleife—20.8 km known as the “Green Hell”—in 6:54.340, using a GT3 RS equipped with this identical kit.

Note: The components of the 911 GT3 RS Manthey Kit are engineered as a matched package and must be installed together.  For details, availability, and ordering, contact Porsche Centre North Toronto Parts Team: 647-925-1390

Aerodynamics Package — Downforce You Can Feel

The GT3 RS is already one of the most planted rear-engine performance cars ever built. The Manthey aerodynamic package enhances that foundation with motorsport-grade components: carbon wheel-arch air baffles, front apron flaps, a redesigned carbon rear wing with body-mounted supports, a reinforced rear structure, and carbon aerodiscs on the rear wheels.

These changes don’t just look dramatic—they change the car’s behaviour:

Toronto expressway sweepers (401/404 interchange): Where standard GT3 RS owners might feather the throttle to keep the front end settled, a Manthey-equipped car maintains a locked-in stance—steering input becomes a brushstroke rather than a correction.

Calabogie Motorsports Park: Through the long left of Turn 15, where airflow typically causes rear-end turbulence, the aerodiscs reduce drag and help the car stay neutral under throttle.

Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (Mosport): Entering Turn 4 at speed, the added rear downforce translates to confidence when most cars feel lightest—allowing smoother commitment to the downhill entry instead of mid-corner hesitation.

The package was validated in Weissach’s cutting-edge wind tunnel—an eight-metre carbon-bladed wind generator capable of up to 300 km/h—ensuring stability at speeds well beyond public road limits.

Coilover Suspension — Circuit Sensitivity, Street Usability

The Manthey suspension is not simply “stiffer.” It is designed to be more communicative.

-Front axle: McPherson upside-down aluminum strut

-Rear axle: Aluminum Spring Strut

-Tool-free adjustment wheels for quick tuning

-Front-axle lift system retained in full

-Adjustability: 3-way shock absorbers up front, 4-way shocks rear (low/high speed rebound and compression)

On Toronto streets:
Urban pavement is unpredictable—patchwork asphalt, streetcar lines, imperfect freeway joints. Dial in softer low-speed compression and the suspension breathes over surface irregularities, preserving ride quality without the nervousness often seen in aftermarket setups.

Track days at Calabogie or CTMP:
Switch to aggressive damping and the RS becomes laser precise. Heavy braking into Turn 2 at Mosport? The front tires stay loaded without pogoing. Climbing the Calabogie back straight? Rebound tuning keeps the rear firmly planted, enabling earlier throttle and faster sector times.

This suspension was developed through thousands of kilometers of testing—including intensive tuning on the Nürburgring Nordschleife—to find the sweet spot between road confidence and race-day sharpness.

Brake Line Set with Steel Sheathing — Pedal Feel with Purpose

If you’ve ever driven a GT car hard and wished for a more direct brake pedal, this is the answer.

The steel-sheathed brake line set sharpens response and maintains consistency as brake temperature climbs. Manthey tested these components on the Nürburgring—where repeated high-speed stops magnify any weakness in pedal feel.

Optional Racing Brake Pads (for PCCB):
Part numbers 991 044 806 36, 991 044 806 37.
These pads provide exceptional bite, predictable friction across a wide temperature window, and minimal disc wear.

Real-world effect:
Trail braking into Turn 13 at Calabogie becomes smoother. Late braking into the CTMP hairpin feels more like steering with your foot—modulation instead of guesswork.

Wheel Set — A Subtle Change That Transforms Everything

The Manthey Kit is available only with the 20/21-inch GT3 RS wheel set or the 20/21-inch GT2 RS magnesium wheel set.

If your vehicle does not already have them, they must be installed with the kit.

GT3 RS wheel set finishes:

-Black (satin-gloss)

-Aurum (satin-gloss)

GT2 RS magnesium wheel set finishes:

-Brilliant Silver

-Black (satin-gloss)

-Aurum (satin-gloss)

-White Gold Metallic (satin-gloss)

-Platinum (satin-gloss)

Magnesium wheels reduce unsprung mass by 11.4 kg (without tires, TPMS, or valves). That number may sound simple—but ask an owner who’s driven both.

Turn-in becomes instantaneous. Steering feel becomes surgical. Over curbing—especially at Calabogie’s Turn 3 chicane—the suspension reacts instead of shuddering.

Tire sizes:

Front: 9.5 J × 20 RO 50 with 265/35 ZR 20 (99Y) XL tires.

Rear: 12.5 J × 21 RO 48 with 325/30 ZR 21 (108Y) XL tires.

Porsche recommends the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tire to fully utilize the package.

Why Enthusiasts Choose the Manthey Kit

Because this upgrade isn’t about adding power—it’s about unlocking performance that already lives within your GT3 RS. It turns an iconic Porsche into your Porsche: uniquely engineered, subtly different, and unmistakably special among other RS models at the next track day.

And because it is Porsche Approved, your factory OEM warranty remains intact when installed through Porsche.
