It’s race time again this upcoming weekend for the Alegra/Porsche Centre Oakville Motorsport team and its lead driver, Daniel Morad.
This next step in the Ultra 94 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge Canada by Michelin championship will be held during the Grand-Prix de Trois-Rivières, commonly known as GP3R, which is located about an hour north of Montréal along the Saint-Lawrence river. Set as a temporary city circuit within the city of Trois-Rivières, this now legendary and popular 10-turn, 2.433 km racetrack is known as being both challenging and captivating.
Even more captivating for the team is the possibility of GP3R being a turning point in the championship situation: Daniel is second in the rankings with only 15 points separating him from the leader Chris Green and, with two events to go, has the possibility to take the lead. Meanwhile, Alegra/Porsche Centre Oakville Motorsport is second in the team rankings and is aiming for the top.
Fifteen years young De Quesada is another rising star within the team having won the Gold Cup division in the previous two races held at Calabogie.
Another team star is Tim Sanderson - 2014 Gold Cup champion. He won and finished second last year in Gold Cup at GP3R and has been a consistent top-five finisher this year in his first season in Platinum Cup.
Two GT3 Cup races will be held during the GP3R event: round 7 is scheduled for 3:10 pm Saturday August 1st and round 8 will be Sunday the 2nd at 11:30 am. Both races are 45 minutes long; practice will be held Friday while qualifications will happen on a cold track Saturday morning.
