It’s been a long cold winter, which I’m sure has been hard on both you and your Porsche. With the arrival of warmer weather, I think it’s safe to say we’ve survived one of the coldest winters I can remember. It should come as no surprise that our Canadian climate is one of the most unforgiving on our vehicles. It can be sweltering hot in the summer, and, in the winter, they have to deal with unreasonably cold temperatures and copious amounts of salt, which gets into difficult to clean areas. They are also subjected to potholes the size of moon craters that challenge their suspension and alignment. With the return of warmer weather, it’s time to bring your Porsche in for a spring physical to ensure the onslaught of winter hasn't affected its performance.
Preparing Your Porsche for Spring Check List
- Spring cleaning — It’s time to clean every nook, cranny and crevasse of your Porsche. Over the course of the winter both the inside and outside have taken on its fair-share of salt and mud. We’re also betting there are a few fossilized French fries or other food times hiding under your seats. It’s time to get them out! Our most popular detailing package will take care of the built up grime and crystallized salt. It takes about 1/2 day to complete, and our detail team shows mud, dust, dirt and fossilized food no mercy!
- Swap out winters for those much better looking summer wheels — So long as the average temperature remains above 7 degrees Celsius, it’s time to swap your winters for your much better handling, and better looking, summers. Keep in mind that we have a tire storage service - far more convenient then having them take up valuable space in your garage.
- Alignment and brakes — While we are performing your seasonal tire swap we’ll also perform a complimentary alignment inspection using our precision laser alignment rack. Much like a Porsche, our laser alignment rack is a precision-built tool, and the ability to check alignments that are out by as little as 0.1 degree. Of course, with the wheels off, we’ll give the brakes a good inspection to ensure there are no signs of improper wear or other out-of-round symptoms.
Just as you should have a yearly physical to make sure all your parts are in good working order, you should give your Porsche a yearly heath check, and there’s no better time to give your Porsche a physical than when swapping your winters for summers.
