All Porsche models have something in common: They have a soul. A certain feeling you get as a driver as soon as you get behind the wheel. The Porsche Taycan has arrived at Porsche Centre Vaughan. And although the vehicle's heart is powered by a different force – electricity – the soul, once again, is the same.

A True Sports Car.

It’s a sports car. There’s no doubt about that. But it’s not the sports car you might expect. Its powertrain is completely new, but, like that of every Porsche, is based on technology tested in motorsports. Two permanent magnet synchronous motors (PSMs), similar to those in the 919 Hybrid that won Le Mans, propel the car and recover energy when braking. One of them powers the rear axle, the other the front axle. The PSMs are the turbos among electric motors. They convert electrical energy into propulsion very efficiently and smoothly.

Battery and charging.

Porsche is breaking new ground with the Porsche Taycan by doubling the standard charging voltage to 800. This results in shorter charging times as well as less weight, because power can be transmitted by thinner copper wires. The size of the lithium-ion battery enables the car to drive more than 500 kilometers on a single charge. It needs only 15 minutes to recharge for another 400 kilometers of range. Just enough time for a coffee break.

Step into the future.

Inside the cockpit, physical buttons have been almost entirely replaced by digital ones. Making the interior look extremely tidy. The same principle of tidiness also applies to the displays, of which there are up to four – intuitive, distraction-free and easy to use. Did we mention there's a 16.8-inch curved display?

A Taycan for every purpose.

Choose from three body styles – Taycan four-door, the Taycan Sport Turismo GTS for the ultimate in sportiness, or the versatile Taycan Cross Turismo, with slightly raised ride height. Five power options are available – 469 hp (Taycan 4 Cross Turismo only); 522 hp Taycan 4S; 590 hp Taycan GTS; 670 hp (Taycan Turbo); and 750 hp (Taycan Turbo S)
