Five doors, five seats, yet incomparable, unmistakable and unstoppable. In its latest generation, the Macan is and remains the sports car of compact SUVs. Instantly, the Porsche DNA is recognizable from the sloping roof line: the ”flyline” lends the Macan its characteristic sports car contours.
The new engines continue to deliver true sports car performance.
Different engines, same principle: the 2.0-litre inline four-cylinder turbo engine and the 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 engine efficiently produce outstanding power and torque.
With its dynamic curves, the Macan proves that it is undoubtedly a sports car. The newly developed rear design gives a nice impression of power. As a hallmark of its own character, the characteristic rear light strip underlines the "PORSCHE" inscription. The wide stern above the rear wheels is reminiscent of the 911. And it also visually shows that the Macan is very stable on the road. The 4-point brake lights are a functional addition to the rear light strip. But not only. They also make it clear that the Macan carries Porsche DNA within it.
Profile.
In profile, too, he looks like a Porsche. A muscular figure stretched out, ready to pounce. Combined with the sagging, coupé-like roofline, this sensation of power gives rise to a very aerodynamic silhouette, this special “flyline” which highlights the eminently sporting character of any Porsche.
Interior.
You are on the lookout for new experiences. And you still want to have an eye. At the front, the sports seats have a layout worthy of any true sportsman, glued to the road, combined with the elevated seating unique to the Macan. The seating position is also extremely comfortable on long journeys thanks to the fully electrically adjustable 14-position seats with Comfort Memory Pack or the 18-position adaptive sport seats with the optional Comfort Memory Pack.
Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) gearbox.
Standard on Macan models, the 7-speed PDK transmission is used in manual or automatic mode. Super-fast gear changes are seamless torque-free, against a backdrop of excellent dynamics and efficiency. The PDK transmission has the advantage of preparing the next gear even though a gear is already engaged. Gear changes are therefore completed in fractions of a second. In automatic mode, they are systematically optimized to reduce consumption. So not only does the PDK gearbox pave the way for sportier driving and more agility, it also promotes efficiency. Do you prefer to shift gears manually? Never mind: the paddles of the standard multifunction sports steering wheel or the PDK selector are at your disposal. The optional Sport Chrono package once again shortens the gear change time in Sport Plus mode, for even more sportiness. In addition, the available Launch Control automated start function will propel you to the heights of driving pleasure.
Sport Chrono package with mode selector.
Adventure at the touch of a button? It's rare. But not impossible. The Sport Chrono package provides even sportier tuning of the chassis, engine and transmission. The components include a stopwatch with analog and digital display and Sport Chrono functions in the PCM for viewing, recording and evaluating lap times as well as times on other courses.
Brakes.
All Macan models' braking systems convince with their perfectly matched power. Up front, Macan models are equipped with 4-piston aluminum monobloc fixed caliper brakes. From the Macan S, 6-piston brake systems are used. The brake discs are self-ventilated; for consistently high braking power even with continuous use. The Macan brake calipers are in Black, Titanium Gray on the Macan S and Red on the Macan GTS. On the Macan Turbo, they are White, thanks to the particularly powerful Porsche Surface Coated Brake (PSCB).
