Produced since 1996 as a 1997 model year, the Boxster reintroduced Porsche's beloved sporty roadster concept, which had disappeared since the end of production of the iconic Porsche 914 in 1976. Just like its forefather, the first Boxster already offered a mid-rear engine for exceptional road handling. As for the powertrain, it was already a flat-six, just like the 911 in its early days.
And this one is about to return to the regular 718 range, with the all-new 2021 Porsche 718 GTS 4.0. Discover everything you need to know about these future new benchmarks in terms of performances and emotions for their driver with Porsche Rive-Sud, your Porsche dealer of choice in St-Hubert!
A highly sporty look that will turn all heads near Longueuil!
The first contact you'll have with the new 2021 Porsche 718 GTS 4.0, when they become available in St-Hubert at Porsche Rive-Sud, will be visual and, above all, striking. A plunging hood surrounded by streamlined headlights and overhanging a well-ventilated front fascia, wide curved fenders, black trimmed taillights overhanging two oval tailpipes that are no longer central but distinct: the 2021 718 GTS 4.0 offers all the sportiness you expect from a Porsche.
Add to that a hard top that tilts sharply toward the stern, right down to the taillights for the 2021 Porsche 718 Cayman GTS 4.0, and an exceptionally pure line for the Boxster once the soft top is folded down, and you'll be dazzled every time you see your 2021 718 GTS 4.0 before taking place inside, just like those who will pass you on the South Shore of Montreal near Brossard. Expect to be the center of attention!
An engine as powerful as it is melodious, for all-time enjoyment on the road.
But the biggest surprise of this new generation of the 718 GTS is under the hood. Porsche Canada is very proud to announce the return of the six-cylinder engine in the middle position, an engine architecture that has delighted Boxster fans since its first generation. This one will make you forget about the old 2.5-litre horizontally opposed four-cylinder turbo engine of the former 718 GTS, which was not stingy with its 365 hp.
But with the new flat-six of the new 2021 Boxster and Cayman GTS, you'll clearly step up a level, both in terms of performance and sound. In fact, it's nothing less than the atmospheric 4.0 flat-six boxer engine of the recent Boxster Spyder and Cayman GT4 that sits behind the seats. Nothing less! Although slightly less powerful than on the two aforementioned models, it's still amazing, with 394 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 309 lb-ft at 2,000 rpm.
Thanks to the latter, the 2021 Porsche 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 and 2021 Cayman GTS 4.0 blow one off the park, with a 0–100 km/h sprint achieved in just 4.5 seconds with the standard 6-speed manual transmission. And with the PDK dual-clutch transmission coming soon after, you'll no doubt be able to squeeze precious tenths out of that time! As for the top speed, it peaks at over 292 km/h. And with the six-cylinder engine screaming at your back near Brossard, you'll experience extraordinary driving sensations on the South Shore of Montreal!
A sporty and luxurious interior typical of Porsche for your everyday life in St-Hubert!
The interior of the 2021 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 is in tune with the rest of these two accomplished sports cars. With a horizontally styled and sleek dashboard, an ascending centre console, and a steering wheel that's easy to grip for flawless ergonomics: the interiors offered by these two top athletes invite you to a dynamic drive as soon as you enter the cabin.
But these interiors are also very luxurious, since the abundance of Alcantara inside, which smells like motor racing, blends with the highest quality leather, but also with carbon for the inserts. On top of the presence of these exceptional materials, depending on the model you choose, you will be able to enjoy power-adjustable seats to find the driving position that suits you best. These alone represent the GTS spirit: the ultimate in Porsche 718 performance on the South Shore of Montreal, plus daily versatility!
