Although several Porsche models have been in many people’s daydreams over the last 75 years, the Porsche Mission X –with its impressive specs sheet- is a true testament of what we can expect the future of motorsports to be. Read on below to find out more about the Porsche Mission X, which is a truly electrifying concept car!
New features exclusive to the concept car
Porsche has always been a pioneer in motorsports and all of the manufacturer’s vehicles proudly feature this DNA. The 100 % electric Porsche concept car remains true to its lineage.
Furthermore, the German manufacturer keeps innovating and presents the new Porsche Mission X. We already know that it will be a 100 % electric high-performance vehicle and that it could very well be the Porsche 918 Spyder hybrid successor.
Still in the concept stage, this super car could also find its way to your Porsche dealership showroom someday. The German manufacturer is constantly innovating and surprising us.
Although it is 100 % electric, you can expect extreme power! Porsche is very clear about its intention of coming out in first place on the Nürburgring racetrack.
Exterior Design
From the moment you lay eyes on it, it is easy to see that this car is truly unique. The carbon fiber structure and glass dome are two elements that provide the vehicle with greater aerodynamics and elegance, while also allowing it to remain light.
This carbon fiber exoskeleton with doors that open upward (in Le Mans style) provides the vehicle with a richer design and shows us just how much the German manufacturer focuses on innovation, and how it intends to move towards the future. Moreover, carbon fiber is a very solid and resistant material.
An unusual fact: this super car rides on staggered tires, with 20- inch wheels at the front and 21- inch wheels at the back. They are made with aerodynamic almost translucent blades built like turbines, to improve brake cooling.
In short, the Porsche electric supercar can boast having a unique design since it does not look like any model offered by the competition. With a very sporty silhouette, a clearly aerodynamic structure, headlights inspired by the 906 and 908 models that open as if giving us a wink, cameras in lieu of the side mirrors and so much more, it really is truly one of its kind.
Technical Specifications
The Porsche Mission X specs clearly demonstrate –as we have already mentioned- that it truly is a 100 % electric futuristic vehicle.
Moreover, although the details regarding the powertrain remain unknown, the Stuttgart manufacturer mentions a ratio of 1 horsepower per kilogram. In the automotive press, there is mention that if the electric supercar’s weight is 1,500 kg (3,306.93 lbs), that would mean a total of 1,500 horsepower. Needless to say, should the Mission X actually begin production, it would be an ultra-performance supercar with extreme downforce.
Moreover, it seems that the vehicle’s 900-volt electric architecture would allow for batteries to be charged twice as fast as those currently on the Porsche Taycan.
4,956 mm long, 1,999 mm wide and 1,199 mm high, this electric supercar is wider than the Porsche 918 Spyder, but also shorter. Wheelbase is 2,728 mm, which is quite close to that of the 918.
The Cockpit
Inside of the Porsche concept-car, you will find carbon seats in different colors both for the passenger side and the driver side. In this 2-passenger vehicle, there are several cameras to record quick laps and a chronograph system. This allows the passenger to access loads of data and essential information on the track that he or she can then relay to the pilot.
For a truly enjoyable driving experience, the driver will have a “yoke” type steering wheel with no envelope, which really means without a top or bottom part. The driver will feel like he or she is driving a true race car through and through. The all-new Porsche Mission X interior does not look like any of the other vehicles offered by the German manufacturer. Inspired by motorsports and racing, the interior of the supercar shows several carbon fiber elements. With a curved digital driver screen, you will have access to all the essential information you need.
Everything else is on the passenger’s side, who can easily relay all the useful information about your driving data and performance. Finally, you will feel safe on board thanks to racing seatbelts with six anchor points.
The Mission X cockpit also adds stunning finishing touches like LED light strips that provide you with a relaxing atmosphere… until you press the Start button that is, when it will have you literally glued to your seat!
All in all, the Mission X specs are truly impressive and spectacular. If this vehicle makes its way to the production line in 2027, several adrenaline junkies and racetrack aficionados will be pleased!
