Porsche knows what is good for the soul. Open roads, freedom and the power to go further. With the birth of the Taycan, Porsche forever rewrote the rules of electric mobility but once again those rules have been thrown out the window. The 2021 Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo is the Taycan’s long-roofed younger brother that delivers an exciting alternative of an all-wheel-drive, off-road-capable electric performance vehicle.
The Taycan DNA shines through in the Cross Turismo's sporty face and sharp-ducted LED eyes, but the clear delineation is the interior space and roofline of the Cross Turismo which offers drivers increased flexibility and versatility.
Stefan Weckbach, Vice President of the Taycan model range expanded the Taycan range after Porsche’s successful launch in the all-electric age. More than 20,000 Taycan sports sedans were delivered to customers in 2020. With that success in mind, Stefan wanted to give customers more options in this new age of mobility. “We developed a completely new roofline, fitted with roof rails, a more generous second row and bigger trunk, all to make a car that is perfect for an active lifestyle.” He says, “The aim is a car perfect for both an urban environment and the countryside.”
Porsche equips all of the Taycan Cross Turismo models with the 93-kWh Performance Plus Battery as standard and estimates a range up to 456 km, WLTP (283 miles). EPA estimates will follow in the coming months, ahead of the Cross Turismo market launch. The 800-V electrical architecture zaps in 100 km/h (62 miles) of range in five minutes when hooked up to a 270-kW charger. Designed for more rugged roads than the standard Taycan, the Cross Turismo features Active Aerodynamics, adaptive air suspension, powerful all-wheel drive and a responsive high-tech chassis with unique offroading drive modes.
Inside, the stretched roof adds 9.1 cm (3.6 inches) of headroom over the rear seats and 0.9 cm (0.35 inches) up front while enclosing between 14.3 and 15.7 cu ft (405 to 445 L) of extra rear load space as compared to the Taycan sedan. With the rear seats folded, the Cross Turismo offers a max of 42.8 cu ft (1,212 L) of load space to go along with the 2.9-cu ft (82.1 L) front trunk.
Four derivatives of the Taycan Cross Turismo are available immediately at its launch.

Countless variations are tried and tested; every possible permutation considered until the ultimate electric luxury model could be unleased.
