With the arrival of the free Porsche ROADS app, drivers everywhere can upload their favourite routes, picturesque detours, and unique landmarks across the world to ensure every drive is extraordinary.
ROADS app community members, of whom there are now more than 100,000, are linked by a passion for driving in all its forms regardless of makes or models. A worldwide network of drivers and their personal favourites routes are now just a click away. Users are encouraged to build their network, share driving related memories showcase their cars in a virtual garage and join the conversation.
With a library of 2,000 users submitted routes from all over the world, drivers can follow turn-by-turn navigation, rate their experience and then follow other users to stay up-to-date when they post new routes. With new drives being added everyday, the goal for the app is to be the largest user-generated collection of scenic and high-quality driving roads.
Last year, the app inspired well-known travel blogger Sebastian Canaves to drive a Porsche 718 Cayman GTS along the Wild Atlantic Way through the north-western part of Ireland. ROADS guided him on a 270-kilometre route through vibrant towns and small villages, along the 600 metre-high sea cliffs of Slieve League and over twisting passes through the wild and rugged Irish countryside.
Community members on the app allows access by to an exclusive magazine, DESTINATIONS, dedicated to the important scenes and sights along the best routes. The app is available in the App Store for iOS devices and supports Apple CarPlay with a corresponding app for Android planned for release in the future.
