Like the slightly quicker Panamera Turbo S, which can sprint to 100 km/h in just 3.1 seconds before attaining an identical terminal velocity, the new Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid fits a 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 under its long, elegant hood, as well as an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with all-wheel drive, and like the new 4S E-Hybrid its battery grows from 14.1 to 17.9 kWh, increasing the car’s pure electric range by 30 percent.
Porsche also upgraded both new hybrid’s chassis components and control systems in combination with new-generation steering controls and new tires, improving comfort and performance beyond the super-sedan’s already breathtaking capabilities.
As with most trims in the Panamera lineup, the new 2021 Turbo S E-Hybrid can be had in regular four-door coupe, long-wheelbase Executive, and cargo-enhanced shooting brake-like Sport Turismo body styles, starting from just $214,600, only $12,200 more than the non-hybrid Panamera Turbo S. The very fast 2021 Panamera 4 E-Hybrid starts from $117,800, incidentally, while the even quicker 4S E-Hybrid splits the performance gap from $128,500.
Along with all the styling enhancements from 2020 to 2021, Porsche has provided new wheels and colour to all three Panamera hybrid models, the latter including Cherry Metallic and Truffle Brown Metallic.
The Panamera’s superbly crafted interior stays mostly the same, but its Porsche Communication Management (PCM) infotainment system now features some new functions and services such as enhanced Voice Pilot online voice control, Risk Radar for real-time road sign and hazard info, wireless Apple CarPlay smartphone connectivity, yet more connectivity services, and the list goes on.
Lastly, all 2021 Panamera models offer available Lane Keeping Assist with road sign recognition and the Porsche InnoDrive suite of advanced safety and convenience systems, including Lane Change Assist, LED matrix headlamps with PDLS Plus, Night Vision Assist, Park Assist with Surround View, adaptive cruise control, and a head-up display that projects key info onto the windshield in front of the driver.
Deliveries are expected during spring of 2021, although to make sure you get the exact Panamera you want it’s best to order now by calling Porsche Centre Vancouver at (604) 736-7911 or dropping by our showroom at 688 Terminal Ave, Vancouver.
