Contrary to what most people think when contemplating sports car brands, Porsche ranks extremely high when it comes to dependability and customer satisfaction.
In fact, Porsche was one of the highest placed premium brands in the latest 2020 J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study, beating (in order of rank) industry stalwarts like BMW, Cadillac, Audi, Acura, Mercedes-Benz, Infiniti, Jaguar and Land Rover, not to mention every mainstream volume brand available, including Toyota. What’s more, Porsche maintained its consecutive top spot for sales satisfaction in another recent J.D. Power study.
Now, for the second year in row, Porsche has reached the top position in J.D. Power and Associate’s 2020 Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study, which queries customers on their ownership experience, including how their vehicles drive.
“I am gratified at how excited our customers are with their new dream cars,” said Klaus Zellmer, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America, Inc. “Porsche believes in continuous improvement and winning the top spot again just encourages us to find new ways to delight our drivers.”
The 2020 APEAL Study, which surveys U.S. owners, rates owners’ “emotional attachment and level of excitement” with their new car, truck or SUV. The study covers 37 attributes, with questions ranging from their vehicle’s “sense of comfort and luxury” when climbing inside, to the “power they feel when they step on the gas,” said a Porsche North America press release.
