Gone are the days when we merely cranked up the heat when driving in a convertible with the top down on a cool day or did likewise to the air conditioning in the heat, or at least such primitive processes will be forever swept away in a refreshing breeze when behind the wheel of a new 911 Cabriolet.
Of course, modern, sophisticated multi-zone automatic climate control systems exist because we all feel temperatures differently, this allowing Porsche owners and their passengers to choose their ideal levels of comfort. The quintessential sports car brand has taken climate control comfort to new levels with their latest 911 Cabriolet, however, by creating an interior temperature sensor that detects when the top is in the process of being opened and then makes immediate adjustments accordingly.
Porsche claims its intelligent climate control system is especially effective at low speeds. “Even in the searing summer heat of the city, 911 Cabriolet drivers are surrounded by a pleasant freshness,” states a press release. Alternatively, when dropping the top in the winter, the new climate control system overcomes the usual “warm feet, cool head” challenge. Porsche says the system is now able to distribute more warm air to the driver and front passenger through the centre HVAC vents, resulting in “a cozy veil of heat without having the unpleasant sensation of air being blown in their faces.” Likewise, the driver will enjoy “blissfully warm hands on the steering wheel,” nullifying the need for front occupants to wear warm gloves or thick winter jackets.
The new 911 Cabriolet’s advanced climate control system will be particularly helpful in Vancouver’s unpredictable spring and autumn weather conditions as well, when one moment can cause the need for sunscreen and the next make us wonder if we should’ve brought our umbrellas.
To experience the all-new 911 Cabriolet’s ingenious climate control system for yourself, give Porsche Centre Vancouver a call at (604) 736-7911 or drop by our showroom at 688 Terminal Ave, Vancouver. We’d love to set you up with a test drive.
