Hosted by Porsche Centre Victoria at the Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit, this extraordinary event brought together performance car enthusiasts and families from the Island Kids Cancer Association (IKCA) for a powerful day of connection, compassion, and community.
More than just a track day, this was a celebration of generosity and resilience. With the roar of engines and the laughter of children in the air, the event created unforgettable moments, uniting two communities through a shared experience of joy and purpose.
We were honoured to welcome 35 drivers and their vehicles, along with their guests, as well as 53 members of the Island Kids Cancer Association (IKCA), including children aged 1 to 18 and a few of their dedicated staff. Ten Porsche Centre Victoria team members participated, alongside staff from several of our valued client organizations.
Together, we raised just over $100,000, a tremendous leap from last year’s $34,000.
The day began with two hours of open lapping exclusively for our clients, followed by the arrival of IKCA families. We then transitioned into lead-follow sessions for the kids, who rode along in both client and Porsche Centre Victoria vehicles. To add to the excitement, racing simulators were set up in the garage for the children to enjoy throughout the day.
Thank you to Villa Eyrie Resort and Alpina Restaurant for the beautifully catered lunch and to Susan Kerr, Founder of IKCA, for sharing your personal story and inspiration behind the organization. We also heard heartfelt messages from two childhood cancer survivors who have benefited from IKCA's support. A generous client who made a major contribution spoke on behalf of our donor community, and Taylor Yak offered closing remarks on behalf of Porsche Centre Victoria before we concluded the day with client-only open lapping sessions.
This is the only IKCA program that brings together donors and the families they support, creating a rare and meaningful opportunity for both communities to connect in person. Thank you to all who were able to attend! Until next year!
