The all-electric Porsche Taycan Turbo S is the official safety car for the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Currently, in its eighth season, Formula E is a competitive racing series that sees top drivers helm electric single-seat racers through challenging street circuits in some of the world's most iconic cities. 11 teams, each with two drivers, make up to the grid, including the factory-supported Tag Heuer Porsche Formula E Team with drivers André Lotterer (3x 24 Hours of Le Mans winner) and Pascal Wehrlein (former Formula 1 and DTM driver).
The Taycan Turbo S' paintwork sports the colors of all eleven teams, symbolizing the commitment of all involved in Formula E and the shared path towards the future of electric motorsport, though it is also nicely evocative of iconic liveries from past Porsche racers. At the same time, it gives a visual expression of social values such as diversity and community. A rollcage, racing bucket seats with six-point seatbelts, high-visibility lighting, fire extinguisher, comprehensive communication system, and Marelli Logger system were also equipped. With its 751 horsepower and 260 km/h top speed, the Taycan Turbo S is perfectly suitable to marshal the Formula E racers at sustainable speeds across racing weekends.
