The warm-up for winter begins with the tires. Because they transfer the high performance of a Porsche to the road surface. Only tires which are suitable for the season can form a bond with the road - and therefore ensure performance, safety, and driving pleasure.
Winter for a summer tire begins long before the snow falls. Even at a temperature of approx 7°C, its rubber compounds start to harden. The driving characteristics worsen, braking distances increase. With winter tires, the braking distance in wet conditions is reduced by up to 12% and in snow by up to 19%. In addition, the vehicle can be better controlled.
That's why Porsche's engineers leave nothing to chance when developing the Porsche Tequipment wheels with winter tires. Even in the toughest conditions, all winter tires must prove their Porsche compatibility. Our experts push the tires to their limits of performance. On snow, on wet roads and on tarmac, all tire products must demonstrate what they are capable of. On the various winter road surfaces, points such as performance, braking, directional stability, traction and braking tests are tested. In the end, only the best tires - officially recommended by Porsche - will be awarded the 'N' designation.
Winter wheel and tire specials are on now at Porsche Centre Victoria, including exclusive offers on new wheels & tires, balancing, mounting, and tire storage.
