Winnipeg’s 2021 Porsche Taycan offers a number of new features and innovations, including Plug & Charge, a colour heads-up display, and an intelligent chassis. There are also seven new exterior colours, and five new interior trims; meaning you have more options and choices when configuring your perfect Taycan.
Factory scheduled maintenance is now included on all 2021 Taycan models in Canada for the first two years or 30,000 km, whichever comes first.

Let’s go over each of this year’s innovations in greater detail.
Improved, more convenient charging
Plug & Charge simplifies charging: Taycan drivers merely have to plug in the charging cable and charging is underway. Sounds easy? That’s how it should be.
The charging station automatically identifies the connected vehicle through authentication data saved in your Taycan. Payments are also processed automatically.
Charging while preserving the battery is another improvement. It restricts the charging capacity at suitable charging points (e.g. Electrify Canada high-power charging stations) to around 200 kW when customers are planning to take a longer break from driving. This extends the battery’s service life and reduces the overall power loss.
Intuitive display system and intelligent chassis
A heads-up display in colour is now an option for Winnipeg's 2021 Taycan drivers. The display shows relevant information in the driver’s field of vision. The display has been divided into the main display section, status section and a section to show temporary content, such as calls or voice control commands.
A navigation display, power meter and a user-defined view can also be selected as pre-sets.
In addition, thanks to the new Smartlift function, installed as standard in conjunction with adaptive air suspension, the Taycan can be programmed so that it is automatically raised in certain, recurring sections, for instance at speed bumps or on garage driveways.
The Smartlift function can also actively influence the vehicle’s driving height by adjusting the vehicle’s level to the best possible compromise between efficiency and driving comfort.
New exterior and interior colours
The 2021 Taycan year offers Winnipeg drivers a wider colour selection, with seven new exterior paintwork colours and five new interior options.
The exterior colours: Mahogany Metallic, Frozenberry Metallic, Cherry Metallic, Coffee Beige Metallic, Chalk, Neptune Blue and Ice Grey Metallic.
The interior options: a Black/Limestone Beige standard interior, Blackberry and Blackberry/Slate Grey leather interior, Graphite Blue/Slate Grey Race-Tex interior, and a Basalt Black/Meranti Brown OLEA Club Leather interior.
Currently standard on the Taycan Turbo S, the Carbon Sport Design package will be available for all Taycan versions. It includes elements such as carbon-fibre inserts in the bottom of the front section and in the side sill trims, as well as carbon-fibre fins on the rear diffuser.
Upgrade after purchase with Functions on Demand (FoD)
Thanks to FoD, Taycan drivers can purchase various convenience and assist functions as required. What makes this approach special is that it also works after having taken delivery of the Taycan.
Thanks to over-the-air updates, it is not necessary to visit a workshop to install the software package. The Porsche Intelligent Range Manager (PIRM) is already available as a FoD. Active Lane Keep Assist and Porsche InnoDrive (for cars equipped with Adaptive Cruise Control) will now be added as further FoD functions. With active route guidance, Porsche Intelligent Range Manager (PIRM) operates in the background, optimizing all system parameters to achieve the highest levels of comfort and shortest travelling time.
Customers can choose whether they want to purchase the respective function for their Taycan or subscribe on a monthly basis.
