Porsche Centre Aberdeen is proud to celebrate a rare level of technical excellence within our workshop team, with three fully accredited Porsche Gold Technicians: Gav, Eddie and Tyler. Together, they hold an extraordinary 67 years of Porsche training and experience, making Aberdeen one of the most highly qualified Porsche workshops in the UK.

 

A Porsche Gold Technician represents the pinnacle of Porsche technical mastery. It is the highest certification awarded by Porsche, achieved only after years of intensive training, progressing through Bronze and Silver levels before completing advanced assessments at Porsche headquarters in Reading. Fewer technicians reach Gold status, and even fewer teams boast three.

 

Their commitment to excellence is unmatched - with over 300 visits to the Porsche Training Academy and countless air miles invested in perfecting their craft. This dedication ensures that every Porsche that enters our workshop receives the highest standard of care, safeguarding the performance and longevity of our customers’ vehicles.

 

Most recently, Gold Technician Tyler returned from the Porsche Training Academy after successfully completing the prestigious Taycan Level 3 Battery Repair qualification. This is the highest level of Porsche high-voltage battery training, enabling technicians to diagnose and repair components within the Taycan battery system, rather than replacing the complete unit. From safely removing and opening the battery to inspecting, repairing, and recommissioning it to Porsche’s exacting standards, Level 3 certification places Tyler among an elite group of high-voltage specialists in Europe.

 

Speaking about the training, Tyler said:
“Level 3 allows me to carry out advanced diagnostics to identify faults at battery, module or component level. The practical training includes removal, repair and refitting of the high-voltage battery, as well as completing all necessary insulation and safety tests before re-energising the system. After repairs, we carry out full testing to ensure the battery meets Porsche’s safety and performance criteria.”
