4.0-Litre High Revving Naturally Aspirated Engine
The 4.0-litre six-cylinder horizontally opposed and naturally aspirated engine is beating heart of the 911 GT3 RS. Optimised by individually controlled, air-supplied throttle valves and new camshafts with cam contours that produce longer valve opening times. The result: improved cylinder charge at high revs and increased peak power. Trusted Porsche technologies such as VarioCam, direct fuel injection (DFI) and a variable resonance intake manifold further support the motorsport inspired power unit.
40kg More Downforce
The front wishbone has been specially profiled to increase downforce on the front axle by approximately 40 kg. Almost 80% more in comparison to its predecessor.
S-Duct Single-Cooler Layout
In place of the previous three-cooler layout, the new 911 GT3 RS uses a single-cooler concept, as seen in GT racing cars, that replaces the luggage compartment. Oncoming air flow is guided through the central air intake, into an S-shape duct that leads directly to the intercooler. Geometrically-matched deflector blades then direct outflowing warm air from the cooler away from the passenger compartment and the engine at the rear to optimise performance.
Weissach Package
In a battle for thousandths, every gram counts. The optional Weissach package reduces the weight by just under 15 kg. The front lid, roof and top half of the exterior mirror in carbon-weave finish (high-gloss) also visually heighten the motorsport origins of the new 911 GT3 RS – just like the rear wing, which is partly made in a carbon-weave finish (high-gloss).
