Mike Thompson, Service Manager at Porsche Centre Bolton, will go head to head with more than 25 drivers in the UK-based championship for the fifth time. Last season, Mike won six out of eight races. And having finished 2nd overall two years running, Mike now hopes that 2025 will see him go one place higher.
Mike will represent Project 7 Racing in the Porsche Boxster Cup this season with support from a new sponsor, Lancashire-based Bowker Motor Group (who own Porsche Centre Bolton).
Mike said: "Thank you to my new sponsor, Bowker Motor Group, for their support this season. I’m looking forward to getting back on track for the Boxster Cup this year. It’s a fantastic series that offers close racing and a great atmosphere in the paddock.
With a background in motorsport, Mike has previously competed in various racing series, achieving multiple podium finishes and gaining extensive track experience. His participation in the Boxster Cup builds on his previous success in club-level championships.
The 2025 season includes 14 races over seven weekends at circuits across the UK, including Silverstone, Anglesey, Brands Hatch, Oulton Park, Snetterton, and Donington Park.
Mike added: "The Porsche Festival at Brands Hatch and the Supercar Pageant at Oulton Park are probably my favourite events. The sheer amount of people who come to watch and sign autographs is a surreal feeling for me. I love racing; the thrill of the drive and battling it out with others is just the best!"
