Porsche has revealed the new 911 GT3 S/C, an open-top GT model engineered for pure driving pleasure. Combining the high-revving exhilaration of the GT3 with meticulous lightweight construction and a fully automatic soft top, the GT3 S/C delivers an intensified, emotional driving experience.
According to Frank Moser, Head of the 911 and 718 model series, the new model was developed in response to growing customer demand for open-top sports cars with uncompromising focus:
“The emotive powertrain of the 911 GT3 comes into its own even more emphatically when driving with the roof down on winding country roads.”
Despite featuring a fully automatic cabriolet roof, Porsche has kept weight to an impressive 1,497 kg — only around 30 kg more than the previous 991-generation 911 Speedster.
Lightweight Engineering, GT Precision
Drawing heavily from the 911 S/T, the GT3 S/C benefits from extensive lightweight design. Carbon-fibre components are used for the bonnet, wings and doors, alongside carbon-fibre anti-roll bars and a shear plate. A Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system comes as standard, while centre-lock magnesium wheels reduce rotating mass by around nine kilograms.
Weight-saving measures extend to the magnesium-framed soft top and a lightweight lithium-ion battery, ensuring the agility expected of a Porsche GT model.
Focused Interior and Driver-Centric Technology
The two-seat interior blends motorsport minimalism with premium materials. Lightweight carpeting, carbon-fibre door pulls and Sports Seats Plus are standard, with optional folding carbon-fibre bucket seats available. Black leather upholstery, perforated leather seat centres and embroidered GT3 S/C branding complete a refined yet purposeful cabin.
The digital instrument cluster features a dedicated Track Screen mode, displaying only essential performance data and highlighting the 9,000 rpm redline with shift lights.
Naturally Aspirated Performance
Power comes from Porsche’s legendary 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six, producing 510 PS. Despite meeting the latest emissions standards, the engine retains its unmistakable sound — amplified further with the roof down. Power is delivered via a six-speed GT manual transmission, accelerating from 0–100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and reaching a top speed of 313 km/h.
For the first time in an open-top 911, the GT3 S/C features a double wishbone front axle, delivering exceptional precision and confidence on winding roads.
Distinctive Design and Customisation
The GT3 S/C features a black fabric roof, matrix LED headlights and a retractable rear spoiler with Gurney flap. For added individuality, the optional Street Style Package from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur introduces bold Pyro Red exterior graphics and an extensively customised interior.
