A Day with Andrew Brookes Tailoring

On Saturday 1st November guests of Andrew Brookes Tailoring were treated to an unforgettable day of craftsmanship, culture, and culinary excellence during an exclusive event at The Bonnie Badger in Gullane. Set against the charming backdrop of East Lothian’s coastline and countryside, the experience seamlessly blended luxury tailoring, thrilling driving, and a celebration of Scotland’s finest local produce.

The day began with guests sampling the excitement of Porsche’s newest models. After a personal welcome at The Bonnie Badger, clients slipped behind the wheel and set off along the region’s winding country roads—routes chosen specifically to showcase both the elegance and performance of the cars. The journey included a memorable stop at the National Museum of Flight, where guests had the rare opportunity to stand beneath the legendary Concorde, a symbol of engineering ambition and timeless design. Its presence offered a fitting parallel to Andrew Brookes’ ethos of precision, innovation, and craftsmanship.

Following the drive, the focus shifted from engineering mastery to the natural abundance of East Lothian. Guests joined a guided foraging expedition across the surrounding landscape, discovering the wild ingredients that define the area’s character. Expert foragers introduced participants to coastal herbs, edible flowers, and seasonal treasures hidden in the countryside—ingredients that would soon take centre stage in an extraordinary dining experience. The exploration offered a hands-on connection to Scotland’s natural larder, reinforcing the theme of artistry and authenticity that carried throughout the day.

As evening settled in, guests returned to The Bonnie Badger, where a specially curated dinner awaited. Celebrated Scottish chef Tom Kitchin, renowned for his dedication to seasonal produce and his philosophy of “from nature to plate,” crafted a bespoke menu inspired by the day’s foraged finds. Each course reflected the local landscape, transformed with the refined technique and creativity that have earned Kitchin his acclaim. Paired with exceptional hospitality, the meal became both a celebration and a culmination of the day’s experiences.

From the sharp lines of Porsche design to the wild flavours of the East Lothian countryside, the event captured the spirit of luxury rooted in authenticity. For Andrew Brookes Tailoring and their guests, it was a day that highlighted the art of slowing down, appreciating craftsmanship in all its forms, and enjoying the very best Scotland has to offer.
