Porsche Celebrates Triple Win at What Car? Awards

Porsche Cars GB has begun its 75th anniversary year with major success at the What Car? Awards in London. The 911 Carrera T won Sports Car of the Year, while the Cayenne S was named Best Sports SUV and the Macan S took Best Premium SUV to Drive.

The awards come as Porsche celebrates 75 years since the first Porsche was sold in the UK, starting with the Porsche 356 debut at the Earls Court Motor Show in 1951. The UK has since become Porsche’s fourth-largest market worldwide.

911 Carrera T – Sports Car of the Year
Porsche has won this title for six consecutive years. The 911 Carrera T was praised for its manual gearbox, powerful flat-six engine, precise steering, and surprisingly practical comfort. Judges highlighted its engaging driving experience and strong everyday usability.

Cayenne S – Best Sports SUV
The Cayenne S impressed with its advanced digital cockpit, updated chassis, and powerful engines, including a plug-in hybrid with up to 56 miles of electric range. The 4.0-litre V8 model was praised for its agility and visceral performance, especially with the optional Sport Chrono Package. A new Cayenne Electric is due in showrooms this summer.

Macan S – Best Premium SUV to Drive
The Macan S blends sports-car handling with SUV practicality. What Car? highlighted its precise steering, poise, and rewarding driving dynamics, especially when equipped with optional adaptive air suspension. The Macan range also includes a new all-electric model.

Porsche will continue its anniversary celebrations with a Porsche-themed festival at Silverstone on 20–21 June and new model launches including the 911 Turbo S and the Cayenne Electric.
