In 2020 the journey began when Porsche announced the first Porsche Heritage Design collection model; the 911 Targa 4S Heritage Design Edition. With only 992 units built, this initial limited-edition 911 boasted design elements from the 1950s and early 1960s, with a Cherry Metallic exterior and motorsport inspired livery, together with a Porsche Heritage badge on the rear lid grille which was reminiscent of the iconic “100,000km badge” which was originally for 356 models which reached this milestone. The model also featured the 1963 Porsche Crest on the bonnet, steering wheel, wheel centres and vehicle key.
Two years later, the second of the four Heritage Design models was launched; the much sought after new 911 Sport Classic. Limited to a production run of just 1,250 units, the model featured a rear “ducktail” inspired by the 1972 911 Carrera RS 2.7, and was a follow up to the popular 911 (997) Sport Classic from 2009. Powered by a 3.7-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine producing 550 PS (405 kW), this model also became the most powerful manual 911 to date.
The third and most recent edition to the Heritage Design collection was announced in April 2025; the Porsche 911 Spirit 70. Once again Porsche has revived an era with the help of iconographic design elements from earlier vehicles, with a particular focus on late 1970’s and early 1980’s style. With only 1,500 units available globally, the model, based on the 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet, is available in exclusive Olive Neo colour together with legendary Pasha interior which is complemented by Bronzite accents and black decorative stripes reminiscent of 1970s safety decals, further emphasising its vintage racing aesthetic. The 911 Spirit 70 seamlessly blends modern performance with nostalgic design, making it a standout choice for enthusiasts and collectors alike.
