The All-Electric Porsche Macan Crowned Sunday Times Car of the Year

We are proud to announce that the new all-electric Porsche Macan has earned the coveted title of Sunday Times Car of the Year. This recognition underscores Porsche’s commitment to innovation, performance, and sustainability, marking a significant milestone for our first fully electric SUV.

Uncompromising Performance and Range

The new Macan brings the iconic Porsche driving experience into the electric age, offering power outputs up to 639 PS in the Macan Turbo. The high-performance SUV delivers a dynamic driving experience with acceleration from 0-62 mph in just 3.3 seconds and a top speed of 161 mph. The model’s 100 kWh battery provides up to 398 miles of range (WLTP), ensuring both exhilarating performance and impressive long-distance capabilities.

Advanced Charging Technology

Engineered with an 800-volt architecture, the Macan supports DC fast charging up to 270 kW. This allows the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 21 minutes at compatible fast-charging stations, offering maximum convenience for drivers on the go.

A Testament to Excellence

The prestigious Sunday Times Motor Awards celebrate the best in the automotive industry, combining insights from expert journalists and readers of The Times, The Sunday Times, The Sun, and talkSPORT. Upon awarding the Macan, the editors noted, “Porsche’s best-selling SUV has been reinvented for the electric age with an even more dizzying turn of speed. Aimed at drivers who don’t want to give up sports car performance, the Macan electric is a relaxing place to be and so quiet you can hear birdsong when you stop at junctions.”

Innovative Design and Practicality

Designed for both performance enthusiasts and everyday drivers, the Macan’s features include a 2,000 kg towing capacity and a spacious, technology-driven interior. Advanced systems like Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) and Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus ensure dynamic handling and a true sports car feel.

Harald Horn, Business Development Director at Porsche Cars GB, accepted the award, highlighting Porsche’s dedication to blending high-performance engineering with modern electric mobility.
