Porsche Centre Preston backs Jayan Prakash for national and European karting campaign

Porsche Centre Preston has continued its support for kart driver Jayan Prakash as he records national race wins and further podium finishes during his 2026 campaign in British competition.

Porsche Centre Preston’s backing of 10-year-old Jayan, from Euxton is now in its third year. The centre’s branding appears on his race suit and kart as he competes in national championships, standalone trophy events and selected European races. The arrangement provides support across a season, combining domestic and European competition.

Jayan has stepped up this season into the Rotax Micromax class with new equipment and team support, racing with North West-based Sam Pollitt Racing after progressing from Honda Cadet competition. His programme includes participation in national and European championships in 2026.

Tom Fox, Managing Director of Porsche Centre Preston, said: "This is a big step in Jayan’s development. Moving into a new class and a new team environment brings a completely different challenge, so to see him take a national win and follow it up with another win at the British Kart Championships is great to see. We’re very pleased to continue supporting him as he takes on this next stage."

His 2026 programme includes several established events in UK and European karting. The RMC UKC Championships and the British Kart Championships are the highest levels of karting for Micromax.

The Rotax National Cup at Silverstone is a single-event national meeting for Rotax classes. Champions of the Future is a multi-round series that prepares international teams and drivers for the FIA Karting competition. The BNL Karting Series in Belgium attracts many of the top drivers from across Europe.

In March 2026, he became the RMC UKC Winter Trophy Champion in the Micromax class at Whilton Mill, marking his first national-level victory. In April 2026, he fought hard to take victory at Round 1 of the British Kart Championships, marking a maiden victory at the highest level of karting in the country for Micromax.

Sandeep Prakash, Jayan’s father, said: "This season has felt completely different with the new class, new team and new equipment, but Jayan has got up to speed quickly. Winning the Winter Trophy and then taking victory at the first round of the British Kart Championships has been exciting to watch. Racing at this level in both the UK and Europe is a big step, and we’re grateful to Porsche Centre Preston for their support."

Jayan’s 2026 campaign will continue across UK championships and selected international events as he gains experience in Rotax Micromax domestically and in Rotax Minimax competition abroad, ahead of a planned progression to the higher class in 2027.
