Porsche Centre Preston Extends Support for Cadet Go-Kart Driver Jayan Prakash
Porsche Centre Preston has renewed its partnership with nine-year-old go-kart racer Jayan Prakash as he continues the upcoming season in the Cadet Class.

9-year-old Jayan, from Cottam near Preston, has already enjoyed a great start to 2025, securing six podium finishes, including two back-to-back victories and his first at the National level. He is among the youngest on the grid, competing against older drivers in the Cadet Class (aged 8-12). Jayan frequently reached speeds of over 60mph.

Jayan now races in the British Kart Championships. This is the highest level of karting in the UK. He will also compete in two other National championships: the Cadet Kart Championship and the Superone series.

Tom Fox, Managing Director of Porsche Centre Preston, said: "Jayan’s talent and determination are clear to see. He’s racing against older, more experienced drivers and holding his own—that’s impressive at any age. We’re proud to continue supporting him as he takes the next step in his journey, and we look forward to seeing what he achieves this season."

Jayan said: "Last year was a huge step forward for me. I was thrown in at the deep end racing against older kids, and I learnt so much, and even won some races and brought home some trophies! I’m excited for the rest of 2025. I always give it my all and hope to continue improving and win more races"

Porsche Centre Preston’s continued support highlights its commitment to young sporting talent. The centre’s logo will again feature on Jayan’s race suit and kart. The partnership will provide essential backing as he progresses in his racing career.

Jayan’s father, Sandeep, said: "We’re so proud of Jayan’s hard work and dedication. Having Porsche Centre Preston’s support means a lot. It helps him chase his dreams and shows a real belief in his potential. We can’t wait to see what the future holds."

Jayan will continue with multiple British Championship-winning Team Ambition Motorsport, a team with a strong track record in competitive karting. Team Boss Paul Janes said: “Jayan has been hitting every target set for him ahead of schedule and is performing significantly ahead of expectations. He is working hard on and off the track and is seeing the rewards“.

Jayan dreams of one day becoming a professional racing driver.
