Porsche has expanded its customer motorsport portfolio with the unveiling of the new 911 GT4 R, introducing a significant milestone for the brand's global GT4 racing programme. For the first time, a Porsche race car developed for GT4 competition is based on the iconic 911 platform, combining proven motorsport engineering with the unmistakable character of one of the world's most celebrated sports cars.

 

Developed by Porsche Motorsport for customer teams around the globe, the 911 GT4 R has been engineered to compete in GT4 championships from the 2027 season. It represents the next step in Porsche's commitment to customer racing, providing teams with a purpose-built competition car that delivers performance, reliability and accessibility.

 

At the heart of the 911 GT4 R is a naturally aspirated 4.0-litre six-cylinder boxer engine producing up to 520 PS (382 kW). The high-revving powertrain is derived from the current 911 Cup race car and has been adapted to meet the technical requirements of GT4 competition, offering drivers a responsive and engaging racing experience.

 

The introduction of the 911 platform to GT4 racing strengthens Porsche's customer motorsport ladder, creating a closer connection between the brand's one-make championships and international GT competition.
