Megaphonics ’25, the annual gathering organised by UK-based Boxengasse, drew a crowd of 5,500 and featured more than 61 brands, serving as much a celebration of the global Porsche community as of the cars themselves.
Set across Boxengasse’s 40-hectare site in Bicester, the event brought together an enthusiastic crowd to admire everything from historic racing models to daily driven road cars, with some vehicles arriving from as far as France, Belgium, Switzerland, and Italy with visitors even flying in from Canada, Dubai, Australia, and the United States! Due to the event’s relaxed, festival-style atmosphere, Megaphonics offers a space for anyone with a passion for Porsche to connect, celebrate, and share in the brand’s culture.
The one-day event was designed as a comprehensive celebration of Porsche culture, with the site divided into three key areas. Private owners showcased their vehicles in dedicated air-cooled and water-cooled sections, while a central lakeside display featured 55 exceptionally rare models, many of which are rarely seen by the public. Connecting these areas were dozens of brand exhibits, sponsor activations, dealer paddocks, and Porsche restoration specialists, creating a dynamic environment aimed at uniting enthusiasts with industry professionals.
Boxengasse, a venue specifically designed to showcase all things Porsche, plays a vital role in creating the distinctive atmosphere of Megaphonics. The site reflects the brands core values blending beauty, performance, and purposeful design. CEO Frank Cassidy said, “Fundamentally there are attributes that Porsche models have that you will find in many other things. Yes, we are a Porsche show but we are really an appreciation of craftsmanship, design and engineering.” Every detail at Megaphonics, from the rivet size on the building doors to the music filling the venue and the food offered to guests is thoughtfully curated to enhance the experience and complement the cars on display.
The diverse range of privately displayed cars reflected the full breadth of Porsche passion, with rally-raid Cayenne models positioned alongside Carrera GTs, and 356 Speedsters resting by the water beside multiple examples of the iconic 959. Attendees admired vehicles regardless of rarity or value, highlighting the strength of the Porsche network fostered by Megaphonics. “The Porsche marque is very accessible,” said Cassidy. “We’ve created an inclusive event and attract owners of all different Porsche models.”
The central exhibit continued to highlight the brand’s diversity, pairing Porsche Retail Group’s latest road models with some of the marque’s earliest endurance prototypes, including the 904-079, 906, and the very first 908 built. Inside the two main buildings, visitors were treated to a display of some of the most iconic racing Porsches ever produced, among them the legendary Gulf-liveried 917 from Steve McQueen’s Le Mans and nine Group C endurance racers. “These rare and historically significant cars need to be kept in the public sphere, in order to keep them relevant and remind people of Porsche’s history” says Cassidy.
Looking ahead, with plans to expand future events and attract even larger audiences, Cassidy noted that the team remains focused on honouring the passion of existing Porsche enthusiasts while welcoming a new generation to the brand and its legacy. With Porsche approaching its 80th anniversary, there’s still much of the story left to tell.
