Porsche Supercharges EV Plans with Cayenne S and InstaVolt Network

For many drivers considering electric, charging convenience matters just as much as the car itself. Porsche is addressing both by expanding its charging network while introducing a new electric SUV, the Cayenne S.

A key part of the update is the addition of InstaVolt to the Porsche Charging Service. As the UK’s largest rapid charging network, it adds over 2,250 chargers across 775 locations and with hundreds more in development, it will massively improve accessibility on major routes and in cities. The service already connects more than 1,300 operators across Europe, and new Porsche plug-in models benefit from a subscription-free period of the Charging Service Plus plan, giving access to InstaVolt chargers at a lower rate of 59p/kWh compared to the standard 89p/kWh.

The Cayenne S Electric joins Porsche’s electric SUV range between the base model and the Turbo. It delivers up to 666 PS with Launch Control and features a more powerful rear motor with enhanced cooling, upgraded brakes, and additional performance features previously reserved for the Turbo. The model is designed to offer a blend of performance and everyday usability within the E-Performance line.

Porsche is also enhancing the wider EV ownership experience. The Porsche Wallbox will soon offer customisable design frames inspired by classic liveries, such as Martini Racing and Heritage themes. The My Porsche app now provides charging completion notifications, clearer timestamps for vehicle communication, and simplified Wi-Fi pairing for the Wallbox. The charger supports Wi-Fi, Ethernet, or an integrated SIM for flexible installation.

The InstaVolt partnership forms part of a broader expansion in UK charging infrastructure. TotalEnergies, IONITY, RAW Charging, and Gridserve are rapidly increasing chargers, including high-power hubs and destination charging points, reshaping the landscape so that EV chargers now outnumber traditional fuel pumps.

By combining expanded charging access with a broader vehicle lineup, Porsche is focused on making EV ownership more practical, connected and convenient by addressing one of the sector’s biggest challenges: ease of use.
