Flacht. Birthplace and home of Porsche race cars, located at the southern end of the Porsche Development Centre in Weissach. Here, we continuously develop, test and improve our vehicles – for the one tenth of a second that can make all the difference on the race track. The engine of the 718 Cayman GT4 RS also originates from here. The low centre of gravity of the mid-mounted engine that is characteristic of the 718 models guarantees dynamic cornering and outstanding performance.

To ensure even greater performance, anything that was unnecessary has been removed. Or replaced by lighter materials: the bonnet, front wings, side air intakes, rear wings, decorative trims and full bucket seats are made from lightweight, durable carbon-fibre reinforced plastic (CFRP). While the rear screen is made of lightweight glass and also saves weight. The result: pure performance with a total weight of just 1,415kg.

The aerodynamic concept of the 718 Cayman GT4 RS has been further refined compared to the 718 Cayman GT4 and the overall concept adapted to its enormous achievements: performance, aerodynamics, chassis and, of course, design. This is particularly evident on the fixed rear wing with swan-neck connection and on the rear diffuser. And not only guarantees huge downforce and high traction – but also a razor-sharp track tool look.

Indispensable, especially in tight corners: simplicity. The cockpit stands for total driver orientation, accessibility, directly readable information, excellent functionality, optimal ergonomics and a focus on what really matters. Materials and details in the interior of the 718 Cayman GT4 RS, such as non-slip Race-Tex, decorative trims in satin carbon-weave finish and door pull loops, are derived directly from motorsport. The airbox has been moved to the interior, ensuring visual and acoustic proximity to the engine.
