27 cars took to the grid for Rounds 5,6 & 7 of the 2025 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia season, which featured the first of two 43-minute + 1 lap endurance-format races.
Under the lights on Saturday evening, the action got underway with pole sitter Pereira withstanding a spirited challenge from the returning Marco Giltrap (Team Porsche New Zealand) into Turn 1, as Phantom Global Racing’s Dylan Yip and Sime Motors Racing’s Hugo Ellis battled for the final podium position.
The championship leader brilliantly controlled the weekend opener, pulling clear to secure his first win of the event, with Giltrap firmly maintaining second place. Yip would hold off the early pressure from Ellis to take his third consecutive podium finish.
The weekend welcomed four one-off entries, further strengthening the field. Home favourite Nazim Azman returned to the series with Sime Motors Racing and delivered a strong performance at Sepang International Circuit — the venue where an overall podium was secured in 2023. Azman finished just behind the podium in fourth place, ensuring a strong result at the home race. The weekend concluded with further recognition, as Azman was awarded the Endurance Cup Best Newcomer accolade.
