Porsche Carrera Cup Asia completes successful Official Test Days at Zhuhai ahead of record breaking 2026 season.
Porsche Carrera Cup Asia kicks off its 23rd season with a record grid of 30 drivers from 12 different countries and regions, as they gear up to take on Zhuhai International Circuit for the Official Test Days that happened on 28 February to 1 March 2026.

Tracks for the season include some long-awaited returns like Zhuhai International Circuit for Round 3 & 4, and Fuji International Speedway for Round 5 & 6. Constant fan favourites like Sepang International Circuit will host an action-packed triple header in August, while the championship will once again start and conclude on the support bill of Grand Prix by taking on Marina Bay Street Circuit in October.
A season of new debuts
A record breaking 30 cars took on the Official Test Days as they aimed to find the limits of the new Porsche 911 Cup (992.2), which will make its racing debut at the season opener on the support bill of the Chinese Grand Prix.

Team Porsche Malaysia is represented by Naquib Azlan, who began in sim racing, before transitioning onto the real track, impressing at the Talent Pool Assessment Test last November.

Also making their racing debut were other debutants from the Porsche Carrera Cup Asia Talent Pool Presented by Michelin, competing in the Pro category. Two-time F1 Academy race winner Amna Al Qubaisi competes for 2024 Dealer Trophy champions Team Jebsen, while Chinese driver Ruiqi Liu takes the wheel of the #77 Phantom Global Racing entry.

There are six entries supported by Porsche dealers and importers in the Asia-Pacific region who will compete in the Dealer Trophy. Team Shanghai Yonda BWT come into the year as defending champions after an incredible season with Dylan Pereira.

Alongside the 2025 holders, Team Porsche New Zealand, Team Jebsen and Porsche Own Retail 69 Team all return. Additionally, Porsche Centre Adelaide, Team Porsche Malaysia will join as a new entry aiming for the crown by the end of the 2026 campaign.

Marking the start of 2026 season
Topping three out of the four sessions over the weekend, Porsche Carrera Cup Asia Talent Pool Presented by Michelin member Naquib Azlan, racing for Team Porsche Malaysia recorded the overall fastest lap time of 1:35.391 on Sunday afternoon.

The weekend saw Marcus Amand (BWT Shanghai Yonda) set the early pace in the opening hour on Saturday afternoon, before Naquib Azlan showed his ability in tricky conditions. The Team Porsche Malaysia driver topped the timesheets narrowly ahead of the Franco-Finn Amand, with Giltrap once again making his way into the top three.

With improved conditions and a dry track, it was still Azlan who set the overall pace on Sunday morning, recording a 1:35:517 which was almost half a second in front of Giltrap and Dias Almedia.

The championship now heads to Shanghai International Circuit on 13-15 March to host the first two rounds of the season alongside the Chinese Grand Prix, before returning to Zhuhai in April.
