The soul of a pilot.
Coming from a family that worked in the automotive industry, it was at an early age that my passion developed. Owner of an auto mechanic workshop, my father taught me a lot, especially on the mechanics itself, but also on the specificities of the models. The time spent in my father's garage was very educational for me and I still cherish the time spent watching him work, and sometimes, being able to help him. Only great souvenirs. Eventually, I was introduced to Kart racing. Considered the entry card to any motor racing sport, Karting then became my greatest passion. I have practiced karting for several years and have had the chance to participate in several famous races around the globe.
My energy and determination have allowed me to access high caliber competitions and thus to visit all four corners of the world such as Europe, the United States, Jamaica and so on. In 2008, after winning several podiums in Canada, I took first place in the coveted Canadian Karting Championship. This accomplishment allowed me to access the World Karting Championship which would take place in Belgium.
We were 60 pilots during this round, wanting to qualify for the final. After passing the qualifying test and the three races, there were only 34 of us to take the plunge. I had won my first bet by qualifying for this prestigious final. It was my primary goal, because nothing was won in advance. There were a lot of pilots with a lot of experience. The final was a bit more heated, but that didn't stop me from fighting until the end. It was a very enriching experience and it was obvious that the caliber was superior to what I had experienced so far in my young career. I knew, however, at that precise moment, that I could also perform in the major leagues in Europe.
Too proud to admit my father sponsored all of our trips. I must admit that I too was very proud to wear the coat of arms of our family business, Station Daniel Sirois, abroad. In this event, I also had the chance to be supported by the Swiss Kart Shop team who had, in the past, supported another well-known Canadian driver, Raphaël Ranger.
Shortly after my return to Canada, I began studying for a Bachelor of Automotive Business Administration in Barrie, Ontario, where I studied for 3 years, then moved to West Palm Beach, Florida to continue my school development. My career as a sales consultant started with Toyota and Honda. Companies I loved working for, as both were well established and had a strong reputation and heritage in motor racing.
My debut with Porsche
My arrival at Porsche, this company with multiple victories will further fulfill my passion. With the historic evolution of the brand and my admiration for the history of racing, I can easily say that this is the dream career for me. A bit like extending a career as a driver, Porsche takes me to visit the world, through the training offered, each always more interesting than the next. My educational and professional development will certainly have slowed my Karting career, but the driver's soul is still engraved in me.
